Mia Staffie x DofB 2021 Herne Hill Foster
Re: Mia Staffie x DofB 2021 Herne Hill Foster
I am beginning to fall in love with this girl. She is so easy to be around. Mia loves being at home, going for walks, and cuddling. She is also becoming more relaxed around people and no longer looks for reassurance when I stop for a chat with someone.
I didn't want to leave her alone at my flat this week, so my boyfriend stepped in and stayed with her when I was out. It didn't take long for them to form a beautiful friendship. I assume a bit of chicken sealed the deal.
It was also lovely to see Mia's playful side emerging. Yesterday, I chatted with a dog walker in the park, and Mia was pleased to see them again today. She gently approached the walker's dog and signalled she wanted to play. There was not a single bad reaction from another dog towards her. She is a wonderful and loving girl.

I am getting used to having my furry friend around. She sleeps on the side of the bed and greets me with gentle affection every morning.
Mia still experiences separation anxiety, so I don't leave her alone for more than a quick trip to the local shop. However, I believe that with time, she will become more settled. When we go to the park, Mia wants to play with every dog she sees. If the other dogs like her, she gets overexcited, jumps, and pulls on the lead but is starting to understand that we don't need to greet every dog we meet. This is still a work in progress, but it's only been the second week, so I'm sure Mia will soon learn to contain her enthusiasm with patience, love, and a routine. Many people have commented on how lovely she is and how her sweet nature shines. I could not agree more. I am just trying to figure out what would happen if I adopted her...

Mia is getting more confident and calmer in the park, meaning she does not need to greet or play with every dog she meets. She seems to be interested in everyone and everything, cats, squirrels, birds, someone's bag or entrance, but playfully - everything is a reason to explore and be checked by Mia.
She started her zoomies in my flat, but as it is only a one-bedroom flat, she is mindful not to knock or break something. Oh, she makes me laugh so much! She does not chew anything at home except for her toys, but she does not seem to be obsessed with them.
We are learning to walk on a loose lead, and I could say we are achieving it mostly, though she is a strong girl who seems to have so much energy, and walking on the lead all the time might not be enough for her.
Mia is such a loving girl, beautiful inside and outside. It is hard not to love her.

Mia has already been with me for four weeks, and I love having her in my flat. She has gained so much confidence and is much calmer in some shops, but not the ones with food. Yes, I admit, I shared a croissant with her.
I love watching how she reacts to all creatures: ducklings in the park, a bird in the grass, or a cat in the distance, though not too close. She is eager to play with other dogs in the park, but I am still learning about her reactions and curbing her enthusiasm, not to mention she is walking on the lead.
She still suffers from separation anxiety, and this does not seem to improve. Mia does not destroy anything during my short absences but sometimes pees in the hallway when she hears me coming back.
And she is the most cuddly dog on this planet! She knows when I am working and leaves me in peace, but when I have my coffee or tea on the sofa, she wants to be close to me, putting her head on my lap or gently licking my hand. Calm, gentle, and happy dog, I adore her!

There are 50 ways to lie on the sofa according to Mia. Here are just a few, and if I am missing from the picture it is because there is hardly any place for me on my couch.
But nothing beats the great outdoors!
