Gavin's Story: Gavin was found abandoned and unclaimed within a South London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Gavin will be neutered when mature by his receiving family, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Gavin is coming in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Gavin's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: We were alerted to a pup in the vets as there was no kennel space for the dog warden to place him. The Vets very kindly held him whilst he did his 7 days and then the Dog Warden released him into our care.
Gavin came into RescueRemedies on the 31st Dec 2023

Just look at Gavin's little face - he is adorable!
He is sharing his pen with Maya and so Tricia and I walked them between us.
He is an absolute joy to walk - very easy on the lead which surprised me for such a young dog.
He gambolled along, enjoying sniffs and snatching at bit of vegetation as we passed.
It is totally lovely to see the bond which has developed between him and Maya. They both wait for each other and at one point Maya wanted to play with Gavin mid-walk!
Hopefully this very young dog will find his forever home asap as someone is missing out on his lovely puppy months.

Oh my goodness this sweet little pup is an absolute darling
So I met Gavin yesterday and he is quite simply beautiful
very sweet and quiet in his kennel, but as soon as I started fitting his harness he was looking to make friends
Gavin has a way of looking deep into your eyes and I swear it’s impossible to resist this sweet boys beautiful, kind nature, honestly he’s just adorable and I just know he’s going to be irresistible to all of our lovely walkers, if he hasn’t already then they’ll all be under his spell pretty soon
I could not resist giving him regular kisses and cuddles throughout our walk
Once out and about Gavin pretty much loses his nerves and is very happy to explore, he very much enjoyed the company of his kennel mate Kissy, but I reckon he’d also benefit from some lovely social walks with some of his more social neighbours
I have fallen in love with Gavin, he is glorious and I cannot wait to see his progress through and out the other side of of our lovely rescue

Gavin does his best and unprompted 'sitting to attention'.

Gavin is the quietest of the 2 puppies and such a lovely boy. We had a mooch about the grounds as he can be reluctant to walk, it's a big scary world. He did perk up everytime he saw another dog, therefore I think he would greatly benefit from living with a older dog.

Gorgeous Gavin - he seems very timid in kennels, however, he is the sweetest, lovable doggo. He would make a lovely pet, has lots of love to give and his eyes that will melt you when you meet him!

Bailey found his family today. He was welcomed in to join Misty with Trina and Chris were delighted. They know he will need a lot of training but this is their 6th Rescue dog and are committed to his development.
