Olive was on good form today. She was quick to get her leads on and then we were off! We had a lovely walk in a terrier train of two! Olive showed no interest in the other terrier and happily walked behind, along side and in front! Olive is just too cute and will be on my list to walk, until her special someone takes her home x

My first walk with Olive. Olive is so popular with her walkers it has taken me until now to get a chance to walk her. She met me with an excited jump about. A bit of a face clean when I bent down to put on her leads then off......Busy little lady, easy to walk, squirrels a bit interest
. Sat next to me when sat down. Few fusses. Honestly I am struggling to understand why she has not been whisked away to her forever sofa and secure, (no squirrel would be safe and she would be off after them), garden. Fabulous young lady with a new fan.

Completely agree Liz. We had great fun today, firstly looking for soft toys in the walkers area, she loves a teddy but found a tennis ball which she carried the whole way. Then we were meandering around the woods looking for exciting things. She’s not so keen on the mud, can’t blame her, so we did a few detours. She’s happy to be picked up and carried over muddy patches if need be. After a little walk I thought it might be nice to see how she is in the paddock. She had a great time playing ball and was so good at catching it when I threw it up high. She comes straight back with it and drops it by your feet. I wondered how she would be with putting her lead back on to go, she was absolutely fine and just trotted out with me. I really enjoyed my time with Olive today. She is a sweetie.

Dear Olive is a 'wired' Patterdale. She can easily goes into the 'zone' and gets very intense when she sees something she may feel threatened by or has a prey element.
Olive is in my house so I spend a lot of time with her of a morning and evening. We have a very tender bond. She adores a cuddle and loves to snuggle. She likes a routine where she can feel safe and anticipate its purpose. She likes to go into my car and be in a large crate ..she watches the world go by and to my surprize she doesn't bark. She definitely enjoys the 'down time'. This often leads to us heading off to the shops for trips to collect this or that. If it is shopping then on my return I get a whiny high pitch crying defo. reminding me she is there and ready for special tip bits of food. I will often buy her a sandwich and she enjoys it piece by piece.
In the kennel environment she is very excited and can be shrill. She has certain play mates she will run repeatedly next to back and forwards. Chanel is her running partner. They would defo have a scrap if put together but so enjoy the bountiful play.
My concern with her homing is her obsessive nature and can go berserk if say a nextdoor neighbours dog was the other side of the fence. She can also get jumpy if she is going back into her room and has been sparked by a sound and needs a knack to manage to get her safe behind a door or simply recycle the manoeuvre and try to out whit her by coming in again after a short walk or through a different entrance. Other times she is very simple to return.
Kennels are hard on Olive, but in the house she is settled most of the day and has perched herself by the window and actually doesn't watch as much as I would have thought. She rarely barks at dogs in the adjacent paddock...I think she feels safe.

olive is vast becoming my fav dog to walk plus take to the paddock -she seems a very happy dog to be out & about and she loves nothing more than half an hour chasing a ball at full pelt seemingly never tiring- she is a real sweetheart
