Olive's Story: Olive was found abandoned and unclaimed within a NW council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Olive is now neutered, had her deformed right eye out, chipped, and fully vaccinations. Olive came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Olive's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: 23.12.23 Olive is overdue in the pound, she has had first vaccinations and a flea and worm treatment. I don't know if you can see it in the first picture but she has "micro eye?" one eye is much smaller than the other. The dog warden says she is a lovely girl, she was muzzled at the vets because she wasn't too happy at being examined and she didn't really like being left in kennels xx
Olive came into RescueRemedies on the 2nd January 23

Little Olive yes she is about 7 kilos came in yesterday and she delighted us all.
Today LyndaM kindly turned her day around and took her to our vets so she could be spayed, vaccinated and our Senior Vet took her 'micro-eye' out, so now bless her she has a permanent wink! Sweet sweet love

As Lynne mentions I had the pleasure of meeting the petite Olive on Wednesday. I arrived at the kennels and Lynne asked me to put Olive's harness on but 10 minutes later I was still trying to keep this little live wire still enough to do the harness up, she is a pure bundle of joy. In the car she travelled well a few barks which was to be expected as a lot had happened to her in 24 hours. At the vets they were very busy with a lot of people with their dogs and cats waiting so I picked her up in my arms and she snuggled quite happily waiting her turn while surveying the room, not stressed by all the other inhabitants of the room. Time to go in and she trotted off with the vet.
Later I picked her up and took her back to the vets.
On Thursday I went to see how she was doing and received a lovely welcome. A quick walk down the drive of the kennels as it had started to rain and I didn't want her getting wet after her operations on Wednesday. She walked quite happily even with her cone round her neck, we passed 2 quite large dogs which did not phase her at all
She is quite lovely.
On our way back to her bedroom she discovered a quite large toy bone, I tried to persuade her with smaller toys but no the spiky blue bone was her desired possession.
Although she has some healing to do this little lady will be a perfect companion, she is lovely.

I had the pleasure of taking little Olive out yesterday.
She is such a friendly playful little girl.
We went up and down the lane and around site passing other dogs which didn't seem to bother her at all.
Back on her room she started dashing around with her toys. Very happy girl!

I was lucky enough to assist with Olive's photo shoot yesterday. What a totally adorable little pocket rocket she is we went off for a nice walk after all the posing, and I discovered this little girl really likes squirrels and birds, I mean really likes I thought she was actually going to climb the tree at one point she is so tiny she is super easy to manage but if she could get up that tree she'd teach those pesky squirrels a lesson or two I would really love to take her out again but am not sure I'll be given the opportunity - about to become 'little miss super popular' I think!!!

Olive is definitely Miss Popular and new inductee Jayde walked her today. She was a really good girl and was a very good RR representative
