Darling Sandos is an overlooked, big, playful bear who has been in kennels far too long. It was my first time walking him today and I was pleasantly surprised by his jovial demeanour. Due to his size and grey beard I wasn't expecting him to be jumping with excitement on the way to the paddock! He was great at playing with the balls and took interest on the ice covering the puddles. He had lots of zoomies around the paddock and sat next to me asking for cuddles.

He was easy to harness when it was time to have a little wander around the grounds and listened to my voice as we passed Rudy and Julia.

I think he is a lovely gentleman who is eager to have a human to love. love4.gif

Best walk I've ever had with Sandos today. Chugged along doing his thing. No pulling. Sandos, lovely friendly boy.

Been enjoying being out with Sandos. He's actually quite a character. Walked back along the main road today. He's good around traffic, and had a good back scratch in some bushes along the way.

I finally met Sandos for a walk yesterday and I’m so happy that I did! What a gentleman 🥰

When we first left his kennel he walked straight past 3 of the other dogs who were all voicing their opinions at us, and he wasn’t phased or reactive in the slightest. His main aim at that point was getting out for a nice long wee.

After that we went for a nice walk through the woods. As it’s so wet lately there was thick slippery mud-a-plenty! Sandos was just ahead of me and on a couple of occasions I asked him to wait so that I didn’t go flying flat on my face whilst trying to climb over a log in the thick mud. Sandos just stopped, watched me and waited until I said to carry on. He did the same when we were walking down some steps. WHAT A GENT!!

On a couple of occasions he put the breaks on waiting for some treats, but I pulled him along, putting my silly excitable voice on and he started doing a happy little bolt, not so much that I had to suddenly run with him, he was just excited and happy to be out and wanted to play 🥰

We passed 2 dogs whilst we were out. Both dogs barked a few times at Sandos as we approached them. He did another little run past them, he wasn’t at all aggressive. He seemed more like he wanted to get as far away from them as possible.

When we got back to the kennels he wizzed past the 3 dogs who again were giving us their opinion as we passed, but he wasn’t interested in them.

He let me take his harness off with ease and I treated him to a big handful of sausages for being such a good boy.

He’s a big gentle giant, loves a fuss and I’m so excited to go and see him again. I don’t know how this beautiful big happy teddy bear hasn’t been homed yet!!
