Sandos's Story: Sandos was found abandoned and unclaimed within a NE council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Sandos is now neutered, had his dew claws removed, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Sandos came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Walked Sandos with a new walker today and he is a lovely gentle dog who walked nicely and didn't seem bothered by other dogs including Mika who walked close by. Understandably he wasn't keen to go back in his kennel and needed a bit of coaxing.

I had the chance to take super Sandos for a mooch yesterday and what lovely company he was. He is a lovely calm boy unfazed by the hubbub exiting the kennels and he just strolls on by the dogs. He walks lovely on the lead and checks in with you from time to time to make sure you’re ok love4.gif. He loves a nice little fuss and for a treat he’ll reward you with a nice sit and paw bravo1.gif. Sandos is a nice steady boy and would be a lovely edition to a home :crossfingers.gif: bighug.gif Kiss of love.gif

I’m not usually a Mastiff kinda girl, but Sandos was suggested by another walker (David), so I agreed to take him out walking! I’m really pleased I did! Sandos met me in his kennel nicely, a couple of sausages were shared and then we were off! Sandos led the line of 6 dogs at the start as he didn’t want to be at the back! He was quick to start, but gentle on the lead and didn’t pull, he just wanted a quicker pace! Once he had got rid of his eagerness to lead, he was bringing up the rear, sniffing everything he possibly could when he could. Sandos had a really nice long walk down the bridle path, under the bridge, into the village and over the motorway bridge then back to kennels. He has no issues with cars and took instructions well. I think he must’ve been tired as he was keen to get back to his kennel!! I’m so pleased I agreed to take him out. I’ve had my eyes opened to the world of Mastiffs! He is a lovely dog and I look forward to walking him again love4.gif

Met Sandos today and what a happy fella he is thumbs.gif
There was no nerves in him , he was very happy to see me and allowed me in with no issues, got the leads on and off we went. He does start the walk off at a fast pace but soon settles down and doesn’t seemed fazed by anything, we walked past other dogs and he looked but didn’t react and he was fine along the road. We ended up in the paddock where he was very happy sniffing around , doing a few zoomies and chasing a ball- which he brings back to you woo.gif] Lovely boy love4.gif
