Chestnut and Coconut's Story: Janet & Latoya were taken in as feral kittens, they are timid and about 6 months. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Chestnut and Coconut are neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Chestnut and Coconut are in Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting their new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life.
Chestnut and Coconut's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Chestnut and her sister Coconut arrived during the week. They were found in a garden where some kittens were homed. Chestnut and Coconut went into foster, however the foster carer didn't have time and so they were rarely handled due to long working hours. They were taken in for a few weeks whilst a Rescue place was found.
Coconut's instincts is to watch and flee with fast movements. They went to the vets for a check and vaccination. Chestnut was easy to examine and inject and was returned to her carrier. Coconut came out but jumped away and started climbing the vet's shelves, went behind the computer then leapt for the examination table ..she looked like a gymnast. Presented with a carrier she went straight in. The vet vaccinated her in a crush crate.

Chestnut and Coconut need some patience and time. They are very scared - they seem to be interested in you - making eye contact now - but are very scared and nervous. Hopefully they will learn to trust soon - now are exploring their new home a little more. Cuteness overload. I'm sure they will be wonderful cats once their confidence grows.

Lovely to see Chestnut and Coconut becoming braver - they are still a little nervous but I nearly got close enough for a stroke today. They love to watch the other cats, and are interested in everything going on around them. Both really sweet girls. xx

Chestnut and Coconut are slowly getting braver - I tempted them both out with treats today. Coconut especially likes to say hello to the kittens next door - playing with the toys I wave for them, and trying to steal their treats! She has also made friends with Georgie, the resident shelter cat.

Chestnut came to play with the toy I was waving for her neighbours today. Between her and Coconut they managed to pull it into their pen!
