If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Faye's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Re: Faye Ex-Racer Greyhound DofB 17.02.21 RRemedies Centre
I took Faye out for our first walk today. She walked beautifully on the lead (like all of our lovely Greyhounds) trotting along and slowing whenever I asked, as the ground was slippery at times.
We enjoyed a muddy and leafy trek through the woods and after some time I suggested we return and retrace our footsteps and Faye happily obliged.
On our walk back we noticed a family group heading towards up with various dogs. All of a sudden out of the woods to our right we were surprised by a rush of 3 small dogs heading straight at us, playing chase. Faye was excited by this game but as they raced back to their owners she was able to regain her composure.
We continue towards the group who were now waiting politely for us to pass and Faye behaved impeccably. She did such a good job of being calm and friendly that we were able to pause for a brief chat. In fact she behaved so well the lady we were speaking to was tempted to stroke Faye’s silky soft head. I wish I had thought to have a camera at the ready.
What a little angel Faye. You had me glowing with pride. When we got back I remembered to pull out my camera as I located some treats and just look at the pair of beautiful eyes that greated me.

Another opportunity to walk this beautiful lady today. We crossed the path of a stranger walking in the woods and stopped for a lovely little chat. Faye is so calm and friendly she can win the heart of complete strangers with her sweet and patient nature. She is also never phased by anything on our walks.
A people magnet who is confident and happy to walk alone but also a great calm influence on other dogs. She’ll make a super pet for a lucky someone.Re: Faye Ex-Racer Greyhound DofB 17.02.21 RRemedies Centre
I love walking Billy and Faye. They’re a great duo. They give you the best welcome with lots of kisses. Once the initial excitement is over, they’re easy to harness up and get going. Billy is the confident one and Faye lets him take the lead and follows him. They’re both incredibly soft and affectionate.

Faye walks so nicely with you, and listens well - I love walking with her. She has the softest fur, too.

Faye didn’t want to walk very far today, and turned round very decisively when she’d had enough! She did want lots of fuss though - she kept stopping and nudging me with her nose so that I would scratch her neck or back. She’s very affectionate and calm, after the initial pleasure of greeting you when she jumps all 4 paws off the ground!

My first time walking this beautiful and elegant lady and what a good first impression she has made on me. She was patiently waiting in the paddock with her kennel mate Billy the Lurcher. Harnessing her was easy… had a long and pleasant walk via the bridleway … she is mindful of your pace and walks in a calm and well mannered way. We encountered a few barky and excited dogs on some of the properties we passed to which she took no notice of… casually made mental notes of their presence and continued on her way calmly! What a well behaved lady! From time to time she would nudge my pocket to remind me that it was time for a treat. Such elegance and beauty with a velvety and soft coat… which although looks black from a distance is actually a lovely dark brown shade. She’s the whole package! I am new to this breed of dogs but I have totally fallen in love with them…. Thanks Faye you’re truly a great dog and a great representation of your breed x

Had a lovely walk with Faye today. She kept up a good pace, but listened whenever I asked her to stop, to let a car past or to wait for Billy. She nuzzled me for a treat every so often. She was unfazed by barking dogs, watched the horses intently but quietly, and got quite excited by a cat!
I only managed one bad photo of her and Billy, unfortunately. All the greyhounds wear a muzzle when they’re out for walks because of their racing past.

Faye, you little angel. Every walk is an absolute pleasure. You’re such a calm, even tempered and placid girl, never phased or hesitant despite the muddy conditions.
You amaze me every time with your calm and happy ability to greet both strangers and dogs of all shapes and sizes.
On Saturday we met a family with a young boy walking their large dog towards us. Your calm approach putting no pressure on their stocky dog, giving him space allowed us to pause and exchange greetings and share your stories. Your calm control gave the little boy the confidence to check it was OK to stoke your soft head. You are such a pleasure to take out and greetings like this make us so proud of your great manners.
Someone will be so lucky to add you to their family, you’re a special girl.

I really enjoy my walks with Faye. She’s friendly, calm, listens and walks nicely on the lead. She shows a friendly interest in people and dogs, though is easily diverted if approaching would be inappropriate. She would be a lovely addition to a family.
