Buddy's Story: Buddy was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Buddy is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Buddy came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Buddy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: Mega urgent pound list. PLEASE can anyone offer us a space? Buddy is a male crossbreed who is chipped and he is 6 years old. Buddy is a gentle boy who is good on the lead. He needs out NOW
Buddy came into RescueRemedies on the 30th September 23

Re: Buzzy Staffie x DofB 02.03.17 RRemedies Centre
Buzzy is a delight. Young, friendly, bouncy, enthusiastic and fun. He reminds me of Barney so captured my heart at the very first sight of him. He has bags of personality and is easy to manage. He is very keen to engage and please, so easy to teach. All in all, Buzzy is a wonderful dog and he will make a wonderful companion to some lucky, lucky family.

Buzzy is having a little break with us and he is such a lovely houseguest.
When I picked him up Buzzy jumped straight in the car and was keen to get going. He is interested in everything, looks out of the window as you are driving along and isn’t phased at all travelling.
At home he sniffed everything and immediately found himself some balls which he absolutely loved. Unfortunately, the balls didn’t last long so we went off to the pet shop to find something a bit more durable. Buzzy would play drop, fetch and chew all day if you let him, he constantly wants to play, and despite his 7 years retains a puppyish charm.
He walks well on the lead with an occasional pull. Is not interested in other dogs, but does love attention from passing humans who stop to admire his friendly nature and gorgeous brindle coat.
He knows some basic commands including sit and paw and is very responsive to his name, he is also keen to please so would come on leaps and bounds in his forever home. He has been gentle with everyone including our girls 12 & 13 who have found him to be lovely company.
Buzzy is ready to become the centre of someone’s world and brings lots of energy, love and enthusiasm

Buzzy is back from his foster break and I was delighted to catch up with him yesterday for a lovely walk in the sunshine. He is such a good boy, wanting to please and looking for reassurance that all is well as he trots along on his walk.

I had the absolute pleasure of walking Buzzy yesterday. He is a gorgeous dog. He was very happy to see me and very good about having his harness popped on. He set a good pace and I think would have been very happy if I had set a faster pace, but he was equally happy to match mine! He did not react at all to any dogs that we passed and just thoroughly enjoyed his walk. He is still really quite thin and accepted the small pieces of sausage I offered him very gently indeed. He obviously still had oodles of energy when we got back, despite having been for a decent walk so we went to the paddock, where I discovered that the love of Buzzy's life is chasing and retrieving balls and/or toys his absolute favourite yesterday was an elliptical orange thing that bounces erratically when it lands, and he was wonderfully agile, even managing to catch it in the air on occasion He excels at bringing the toy back and dropping it at your feet, and if he slightly misjudges and it ends up a little to the side all you have to do is point at your feet and he picks it up and deposits it at your feet someone in his past has taught him that He also was happy finding his own playthings and enjoyed a tree branch that was lying around It is impossible not to love this boy and I really hope his finds his perfect match soon, because he is going to bring so much joy to some lucky family.

Buzzy is keeping us company again for a couple of weeks and we couldn’t ask for a better house guest.
Buzzy is an all round lovely boy, gentle with people, perfect on the lead and wonderful company. Buzzy is constantly on the go, ready to play. He would play all day with balls if you let him, indoor it’s throw, return, drop and go again. Tennis balls don’t fair well as he loves to chew so alongside them we have an indestructible ball and a plastic spikey ball he seems to like the texture of that have gone the distance so far.
He can get in a bit of mischief if unattended for too long, whilst upstairs he managed to find an old shoe that was more of a sandal by the time he had chewed bits off and made a beeline for a soft toy, but he gives them back without any bother when asked.
Someone has obviously done a bit of training with him and socialised him well as he is brilliant with other dogs and good around food, sits patiently until he gets something and will give you his paw if you ask.
He enjoys long walks and if you do manage to tire him out he will sit up on the sofa with you happily and have a snooze. What a fantastic boy

Buzzy is still with us, what a treat. He is such a lovely boy, eager to please and always ready to play. As long as he has a ball he’s happy and never tires of the back and forth. He drops it at your feet ready to go again and for a 6 year old has retained his wonderful puppy energy
He is great around other dogs, meets them well, happy to play but equally happy to move on if needed. He is friendly with everyone he meets and loves fuss and attention.
He is house trained, gentle when taking food and will sit and watch patiently to see if he will get a treat whilst you are eating.
He loves sitting in the sofa and has chosen a favourite spot.m, where he will doze off after a walk. We have left him alone for a couple of hours with no issues at all.
He can be quite comical around home appliances, the hoover and hairdryer are particularly interesting. He will try and bite the hoover and jumps around excitedly trying to catch the hairdryer when you are using it
Buzzy has fitted so well in to family life and is wonderful company. His forever family will be very lucky to have him.
