Dave's Story: Dave came into us as emergency as she had nowhere to go. She has had litters and needs a safe rescue place where she can be prepared for homing. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Dave is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Dave came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick and is now in foster as an only pet whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Dave's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: We were called by Cathy who asked a very special favour as Dave had nowhere to go. We couldn't take in this afternoon but are going to take into emergency kennelling tomorrow afternoon.

Dave came into RescueRemedies on the 25th September 23.

Love, love, love this sweet girl love4.gif
Dior is an absolute darling, she was a little bit shy in her kennel and so I crouched down beside her and within seconds she’d come in for cuddles Kiss of love.gif exiting her kennel was super easy and once we were out and had hit the grass Dior came alive, she is so up for an adventure and it’s absolutely impossible to not be drawn into her joy woo.gif]
First stop was Dior’s photo shoot, it was pretty hard to get her to keep still, once that nose goes down she is on a mission, but luckily Dior also really enjoys a cuddle and a belly rub love4.gif Dior has the sweetest mix of vulnerability and sweet friendliness, so she overcomes her shyness very quickly in her keenness to make friends Kiss of love.gif she was hilarious getting her photos done, very much the sweet, snuffly bulldog and all she really wanted was cuddles until she spotted Benji in the paddock and she was mesmerised, didn’t seem bothered at all though thumbs.gif
Photo shoot over and Im happy to report that Dior absolutely loved being out and about on her walk, she is no slouch and very much enjoys exploring the undergrowth, in fact she dragged me in on a couple of occasions woo.gif] she didn’t seem phased by anything and was an absolute pleasure to walk.
I loved getting to know Dior today, I reckon her photos are going to be fab and I reckon her home is just around the corner, she certainly deserves it Kiss of love.gif

Dior has been to the vets for neuter so we just had a short walk up the lane yesterday. She is a really sweet girl. She can be strong on the lead and keen to get on but this week it was a slower trot along but she was happy to be out and about and making friends.

Dior is such a sweetie. She is very affectionate and was happy to get out and have a short walk, while healing. She was so funny when seeing a squirrel, as she made a squeal of ‘he’s over there’ which made her pull on the lead but you can easily regain control. A funny, cuddly, bundle of a dog.

Dior was feeling a bit sorry for herself, so we had a cuddle in her kennel before setting off for a walk. She was definitely very keen on squirrels, but also on cuddles. Lovely girl.

Second walk with the very friendly and cuddley Dior on Monday. She is a gorgeous bundle of fun although a bit strong on the lead which I am sure could be corrected.

Dior is a very affectionate dog and does love to be with people love4.gif so she’s always happy to see you.
She is strong and doesn’t seem to have had much lead walks as she does pull but she responds well to her name and will come when called and sit. I just don’t think she ever went for lead walks. I spent our walk teaching loose lead, when she pulls I change direction and say “Let’s go” in a happy voice, then when she’s by my side she gets lots of praise, as soon as she pulls it a change of direction with a “Let’s go” again. We spent a lot of time going up and down the drive 0002.gif] but she was getting it!
Just stopping when she pulls doesn’t seem to work as she just stops at full stretch as well but the changing directions seemed to do it so I’ll carry on with that.
The end of the walk was a sit down and chill time and Dior loves nothing better that sitting right by you receiving all the love you can give this
Lovely girl.

I love Dior and we had a great walk yesterday with Alfie. It is quite a workout walking her and good for toning your arms 0002.gif]
She is an easy walk in as much as she is not bothered by anyone or anything we meet when out but does pull like a steam train the whole way. I try the stopping and starting but it isn't very effective so will try the changing direction tactic next time to see how well that works!
She is a very friendly girl and very deserving of a forever home.
I'm sure once in a home with consistent training and more exercise she would slow down very quickly!
