William's Story: William came into us as an emergency on welfare grounds. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. William is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. William was in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
William's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Re: William Crossbreed DofB Nov 22 Worcester Park Weekend Foster
Lucky us, we had dear William come and stay with us for the weekend and he is a real gentle soul. He took a bit of coaxing to get in the car, but once in he was interested in everything, looking out of the window and seeing everything go by.
He was a bit of a pocket rocket when he got home, full of energy and the need to explore, not surprising considering he was somewhere new. Loves chasing balls, and getting hold of the odd cuddly toy. He just loves the interaction with people. Out on the lead he walks well, constantly sniffing the ground and following different scents. He meets other dogs really well and just wants to play. He met a french bulldog who jumped up at him and he didn't react at all, he also met lots of other dogs over the downs, had a sniff and moved on. He is friendly and relaxed and could walk for miles. If he sees a squirrel or fox, he does want to chase so you just need to make sure you are holding tight on the lead.
He does sit for treats when asked, can be a little over enthusiastic if you have something he wants and does like a bin dive given the chance and an unattended bin. Once the first night was over he was much calmer, loves to sit next to you on the sofa and sleeps soundly at the end of the bed.
Good with everyone he met, including older children and an all round lovely boy with an easy temperament and lots of love to give, he is also stunning with his brindle fur, and an utter delight. He is more than ready for forever home.
This boy can jump
Fast asleep xx

William was neutered yesterday. William hates to get in a crate so its quite a struggle even when he is still coming around from a Gen An! He travels well once secured.
Lovely amenable boy who currently has kennel cough so is back with us recovering and looking forwards to finding his family.
His weekend in foster will greatly help in it displays what a wonderful boy he is.

Our dear William has come back to our kennels. To save his life we have had to buy in an emergency kennel but are trying to get him on site when we can so I can announce William is back in town and delighting all our walkers.

What a friendly, loving, happy boy. William seems to delight in everything and everybody. He positively helped me fit a new harness on him, then we went off for a long walk. He ignored joggers and cyclists, but if people made eye contact he wanted to say hello. He is not dog-reactive, but would be happy to play if on offer. William generally walked out in front, but with very little pulling, and was an absolute joy to be with. He doesn’t seem overly fond of mud!!!!!
I don’t think William will be with us very long xxxxx

William's popped over for the night. Not bad in the car. A little excited on arrival. Drank a lot of water but not eaten anything yet. Lovely, friendly boy, now snoozing next to me. More to follow.

William is enjoying his stay. Still pacing around a bit and looking for something to do, but no problem in the house. He was up wandering around for an hour at 2am, but settled again and slept through. He's now ate his tea and breakfast, spent some time checking out the garden and is currently next to me playing with a tennis ball.
William has a cheeky character and is very easy to be around. I can quite easily see him fitting in somewhere with no fuss.
Today we've been to the laundry, for a walk, then to my mum's.
