Current Status: Available
Julian's Story: Julian was found abandoned and unclaimed within a East Midlands pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Julian is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Julian came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Julian's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: 4th August 23: Hi Lynne
I can imagine you are worn out with the constant requests for space. Things are just horrific here and everywhere else. I know you have a girl waiting (Candy) but I have a list of dogs and wondered if you could help with even one. I have Billy, Elsie and Julian Lurchers been here since December 22!!!
I have reached the begging stage now.
I hope you are OK because this must be so stressful for you Mx

Dear Julian wowed the vet staff today. He was neutered and he had his teeth scaled and polished...so now has an even great smile!

Walked Julian with a new walker and what an elegant gentleman he is. He walked beautifully and has a lovely temperament.

Dear sweet Julian has the softest fur, he is a gentle soul, we had a lovely walk today, he ignored all other dogs, concentrating on sniffs and a munch on the grass. Julian stays close to you on the walk, but still has a spring in his step, I look forward to walking him again, but hopefully his forever home comes soon

Met Julian today and we had very wet walk through the woods. Such a calming presence about him and is so soft to stroke. Walks well on the lead, even if the squirrels are running around!

Wow - just look at those pics of Julian - he is so very beautiful.
I had my first walk with Julian this afternoon and I loved every minute of it. Julian did too. He is such a gentle, sweet natured, soft coated fella that it is hard not to fall head over heels in love with him.
We went into the woods with Lola walked by Becca and kept our distance as Julian was not too sure. Towards the middle of the walk he relaxed and settled. I felt he did well as I was a new walker to him and he did not know me at all as were our walking companions.
I really am looking forward to walking Julian again and am a bit puzzled as to why he is still in rescue care.

Julian and I had a great walk today, we followed the puppies and Bobby for a while. We then went to the common, where Julian relaxed enjoyed lots of sniffs, he leans into you for cuddles, he walks beautifully on the lead no pulling at all. I look forward to walking Julian again, he is the sweetest boy
