Patch's Story: Patch was homed privately at 5 months coming from a house full of Chihuahuas. He lived for 1 month with a 3yr old child, collie x and a Chihuahua. Patch can be a little precious with his high value items and went for the Chihuahua when he went over to his bone. The Chihuahua is now fine but his family needed Patch gone. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Patch is neutered, chipped, and now fully vaccinated. Patch was in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Patch's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: Urgent phone call received as Patch's family had nowhere for him to go and was considering put to sleep as they couldn't risk him with their chihuahua anymore.

Patch came into RescueRemedies on the 3rd Sept 23

Saw Patch today walking out with Stuart and meeting a new walker. Absolute little poppet and only a baby himself. I shall look forward to meeting him properly love4.gif

Have walked Patch 3 times now including twice with new walkers. He has a lovely placid nature and enjoys his walks and all the new things to explore which he does in minute detail.

What a gentle soul Patch is. Very calm, friendly and a joy to walk.
He is just a puppy and is just so interested in the world around him. We passed a few dogs out on the walk and Patch just walked on, not bothered at all. I hope he finds his forever home soon love4.gif

I took Patch out twice this week and both times he’s been a joy.

Super placid in nature, so calm and a typical playful puppy. He walks well on the lead, likes to entice you in with his baby face for yummy treats and is very inquisitive. You can see him taking it all in. He always wants to say hello to passing dogs. We met two horses on our walk and at first he was a little unsure but then quietly watched them walk by.

He’s a softy and I hope to walk him again <3

I'm always in awe of Patch when I'm in his company. He is going to be a truly, magnificent American Bulldog when he grows up! He is still growing but achieving his adult size. He is too young to neuter but his future family will take care of this in his 2nd year.

Yesterday he exited his kennels and jumped obediently into the travel crate and wowed everyone in the vets as waited his turn. He was examined and was obedient to all direction by the vet.

2nd vaccination completed without even. He then came and enjoyed a lovely walk with Stuart before returning to his kennels ...ready for his home...

What a wonderful, calm puppy! Patch is such a plodder and has wonderful manners. He walked really well on lead and just enjoyed all the sights and smells on the walk.

This boy is adorable, he sits and lets you harness him up easily and walks past all the other dogs no bother. He’s excellent on the lead , ambles alongside you and he didn’t react to the cats or other dogs. Such a good boy, someone is going to get a fantastic dog.
He’s still learning how to play fetch, he’s very happy to chase it but not sure what to do once he has it 0002.gif] . He does like a cuddle though love4.gif

Patch is an angel, a real big softie. He didn’t fancy walking too far in the rain today (fair enough, it was torrential), but once it settled a bit we went to the paddock and played fetch (without the fetching bit 0002.gif] ). He’s a real cuddly boy, so gentle, good on the lead, even running in the paddock I wondered if I might get mowed down playing but not at all, he’s so aware of his size. He loves a bum scratch, he’s got allll the love to give this boy. There’s one very lucky family out there!!
