Rickie's Story: Rickie barks every time the new baby cried and the family want to rehome him as asap. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Rickie is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Rickie came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick and then was fostered as a single pet whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

What can I say about Rickie other than WOW! What a fantastic dog he is!!

We walked with Emma and Hector and Rickie was the perfect boy. Walks lovely on the lead and didn’t pay any attention to poor Hector who was desperate to get Rickie to notice him!

He was very nervous initially but I was slow and gentle with him and he came to me in his own time, which wasn’t long. He’s a handsome boy and once he knows you are there for a good reason he is affectionate and loved a cuddle at the end of the walk. What an amazing boy 🥰🥰🥰

Tony and I walked Rickie and Beau Beau together today and what a smashing dog Rickie was. He wasn’t bothered by Beau Beau at all and walked at a lovely pace behind and sometimes in front. He’s so easy to walk and doesn’t pull much at all. He’s extremely loving and kind and even though he’s a bit nervous of life in kennels he’s got so much more confident now and looks so much happier then he did from when he first came in. He is a beautiful boy 🥰

Rickie is still a little nervous in the kennels but his confidence is growing and he is such a loving dog. He is a really easy walk and loves a fuss when his initial nerves go. He really is a lovely boy! ❤️❤️

Tony and I took this lovely pair out together. They look so similar and Rickie seemed keen on Misty ❤️❤️

I met and walked Rickie yesterday and gosh, he's wonderful! Easy to harness and easy to walk. And he is so handsome!

Yet another dog that goes straight into my "I would adopt if I was in a position to" category.

Apologies, no photos or video on this occasion.

Wowsers
Add me to Rickie’s fan club.
We had the most lovely and relaxing walk this morning around the town. He is so good with the usual things of life. Cars, people, dogs passing by.

He is a dream. And by the end of our walk he was much more comfortable and relaxed looking. And he LOVED a lot of fuss and cuddles in his kennel. And he went all wiggly and liquidy in response to a bum scratch. Leant right up my legs and gave me the goofiest look of pleasure.

I love him on first meeting. Can’t wait to walk him again!!!!

Oh my goodness. This boy is so adorable. We had a lovely walk with him today. He was calmly and gently supporting youngster Hector on his walk by showing him what a good, calm boy does.
Adorable!!!!

Handsome Rickie was my first walk yesterday.

He couldn't have been more calm as I entered his run and clipped on my leads - simple!

We then did a big loop around the village and popped into the woodland paddock on our return.

Such a lovely, gentle boy!

Rickie Rickie Rickie ❤️❤️

I absolutely adore this handsome boy.

His nerves are fading and he is so easy to harness and get out of his kennel.

He walks nicely alone and with other dogs. He’s the kindest of souls and is so deserving of a home to call his own.

Whoever is the lucky enough to offer to share their home with this boy will find themselves with a very special dog indeed ❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️

Sweet Ricky was our first walk of the day today, and the perfect way to start the day! He is gentle and sweet and let me put his collar and harness on no problem. He was incredibly gentle taking treats and very easy on the lead even though he is a big lump, it was quite muddy so I was worried that one pull and I would land on my bum, but he was the perfect gentleman. We went on a longish walk and he enjoyed sniffing everything, he has a very loud sniff that makes you feel like you are walking a little pig haha, on our way back into the kennel we walked within a whisker of George the cat and Rickie showed absolutely no interest so would like to test this again and see as it would be great to have a dog that could live with a cat. All in all he was an absolute star, with little soulful eyes and a complete gentle giant, look forward to walking him again!
