Rosie & Lexi's Story: Rosie & Lexi were left homeless when their owner was found dead. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving their lives. They are both now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinateds. Rosie & Lexi came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting their new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Rosie & Lexi's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: We had an urgent call from James whose best friend was found dead, at 37 years age. His 2 dogs have nowhere to go and we agreed to squeeze them in
Rosie & Lexi came into RescueRemedies on the 16th Aug 23

How absolutely heartbreaking

Rosie is the sweetest little staffie and Lexi is a lovely gentle ambul. They walk beautifully and are super friendly. Rosie cries like a baby and she just makes you want to cuddle her. Such a lovely pair and I hope someone gives them a home very soon. They really tug on the heartstrings.

I walked Lexi on Thursday, with Becca walking Rosie.
They are totally bonded and perfectly content in each other's company, completing our route without any issues or concerns and at a nice pace.
We visited the stream and the paddock on our return...

Little Rosie loves people and fuss and being busy. She is vocal, letting you know she wants your attention. At least she has her lovely, quiet friend, Lexi, by her side.
Yesterday Elaine and I took the girls for a stroll down the lane and then into the paddock for some quiet mooching. Rosie was full on and demanding attention, whereas Lexi is more reserved and a little aloof.

Lovely to meet these two yesterday, they are so well bonded and were all snuggled up in their bed in their kennel when Anna and I went to collect them, Lexi was a little reserved on entering whereas Rosie was straight over for some fuss
Once away from the kennel Lexi soon relaxed and we had a nice walk about the grounds and then down the lane and into the paddock. They definitely rely on each other for company and it would be lovely to see them homed together

What a treat to meet these two beauties today. Their story broke our hearts, and hearing Rosie crying for attention in her kennel added to that in bucket loads. They were both happy to let us into their kennel, they were easy to get out and we walked our normal route with absolutely no trouble, and in about half the normal time I think. Rosie likes to be in the lead, but constantly checking back for Lexi, she also doesn't love stopping. She definitely likes staying on the move. A very close pair, with a lot of love to give. I hope they find their new family very soon.

I've enjoyed two lovely walks with Rosie and Lexie now. They are a truly delightful pair. Yesterday was so hot the girls went down to the stream where Lexie had a very decorous drink and Rosie went for the full body immersion
well the stream was muddy - and so was Rosie
so back at the rescue it was shower time! Rosie wasn't a terrific fan of it, she felt she'd managed to get quite wet enough thank you and didn't need more, but she is very little and I was quite sure she did need the mud removed, so there we are, we ended up with a clean Rosie looking rather like a drowned rat
Lexie was waiting outside for her and checked her over and then we all went back to their kennel for rewards!!!

Walked lovely Rosie and Lexi yesterday, this was my second walk with this lovely duo. They were golden as always, Rosie is definitely the more confident of the two, and more eager for treats and has the most hilarious little bark that sounds like a quack! They're both beautifully behaved neither pulling and very gentle, I know they are little disoriented with their change of circumstances which is really hard to watch but they are doing so well and would be the most lovely addition to the home, can't wait for them to be back on a sofa

Sweet little Rosie decided to have a lie down in the stream today on her walk with Lexi. They are both such sweet dogs.
