Huey was taken on the charity walk by my friend and her teenage daughter who loved him a lot. He walked really well, sat and waited when asked. Rewarded with treats which he takes so gently. He’s got so much love to give!

Met handsome Huey for the first time today.
Georgie helped me get him harnessed and we went and had a cuddle first to get to know each other.
We met up with Sidley and off we went to the very muddy woods, I was so impressed with his listening skills and eye contact.
If Huey starts to get a bit ahead of himself a simple reminder is all he needs.
He is such an affectionate sweet boy and won’t be in kennels long as for sure once you meet him you will fall in love with him - I certainly have

Walked gorgeous Huey today thanks to Karen helping me get him out; he seemed quite wary of me at first and managed to bribe plenty of treats out of me. Once he was out I took him to the paddock for some bonding and he was just so lovely. He responds to his name and sits like a really good boy! Not interested in balls but absolutely seemed to love having a good sniff around.
When I was in the paddock with him a leaf fell on him and got stuck on his harness, which I thought was wholesome, hopefully that’s a lucky leaf and a sign he’ll get a nice home soon

Baby Huey is such a wonderful boy! I'm gutted that he's been returned alongside his brother.
He's a very happy boy, eager to play and very affectionate. It was nice to see him excited around the paddock... lots of zoomies!
After the paddock we went for a walk around the grounds. It takes him a bit of encouragement to get going but once walking his stamina is phenomenal. I think we were out for about 2 hours and he showed no sign of wear and tear. He'd make a great family member for an active family who enjoys long walks or hikes.
Make sure to give him a kiss from me!

We fostered Huey from the 31th-4th Nov. He was such a delight that the time flew by and we were upset returning him to kennels. He settled into our home so quickly, it showed us he is more than ready for a home and a family to call his own. We could see him thriving in a home with children and/or another dog due to his gentle and playful nature. He enjoys the family dynamics but became most attached to my dad, so we could see him going to work with his new dad as a beautiful passenger prince!
When walking he is eager to say "hello" to passing people and gets very excited when someone acknowledges him! He is wonderful at listening to instructions and shows an initiative to please his owners in the household and out on walks. We were so proud of how quickly he learnt rights from wrongs, for example when eating on our laps he knew he wouldn't get any food and would lie down until we had finished. He was great in the shower (despite not being a fan) and settled quickly in the car during drives.
At present, Huey shows some teenage behaviours, such as chewing on things (he isn't meant to), and spurts of energy. Sometimes he pulls on walks and can get random zoomies but he will listen to corrections. An understanding of these behaviours and willingess to accept this side of him is needed until he has matured fully into an adult. His confidence is still growing so he does ask for reassurance and would benefit from a routine where he spends lots of time with his family. Without a doubt, your time and training put into Huey will pay-off through his loyalty and love.
He showed no negative reaction to fireworks, delivery drivers, cats, dogs, and children, however he can be sensitive to the word "no", raised voices, and the crunching on leaves. Sometimes in his kennel he would playfully bite on his harness but he showed none of this behaviour while in the home.
Overall Huey is the most wonderful dog, who is absolutely ready for a home. He would be a fantastic dog for first time owners (...and fosters!) due to his easy nature and willingness to learn. It is amazing seeing him decompress over the 3 days with us, he quickly placed himself into our family and showed us so much love that his presence has left a significant hole in our home.
For anyone interested in getting to know Huey please contact the kennels. We love Huey and hope to see him in a home soon!

Had some lovely smooches with Huey today he also seemed to love rolling around on the sofa in the hut and really enjoyed sniffing a lot on his walk too which was nice to see. We love the sniffs!!! He’s a lovely boy I think he’d make a very loving and funny addition to someone’s home. Thank you for the laughs today Huey!

Had the pleasure of witnessing Huey make his new family very happy today! He’s one lucky boy. I hope he settles in very quickly and makes you all as happy as he’s made me during my time of knowing him. He’s such a loving boy with so much to learn. Thank you guys for rescuing him
