3rd day out and about with Sooty and Kiera and all going very well. Sooty looks so pleased to be out and about again. We've passed people, dogs, big lorries in the lane and all has been good. We had a minor lead grabbing getting out of the big paddock, but apart from that....impeccable. Sooty needs to be near his people, he is an up close and personal dog. I'm sure he would be a fine companion. Today Kiera got all the kisses....again.

Kiera was on the missing list today so me and the boy took a walk up to the river. Sooty didn't put a foot wrong. When we got back we spent 20 mins sitting down and watching the world go by.

Sooty's ready to go as soon as he sees the leads (which he hasn't been grabbing). It's a bit of a faff getting his harness on as he's so excited, but it's not been difficult.
Today we had a walk up the lane and down the road. The traffic didn't bother him at all ( most things don't bother him) nor did the dogs we passed. He trots along quite nicely and hardly ever pulls.
When we got back it was time for a brush and wipedown with a wet towel. He was good about the whole thing.

Sooty does have something regal about him in the way he walks and sits.
He likes being close by and won't go far before returning to your side.
We had 2 lead grabs today. I think he wanted to stay in the grounds and to not go up the lane. However, he didn't go near the hands or arms and it was short lived.

It's absolutely wonderful to see Sooty becoming more comfortable walking on lead. Well done Stephen, he is such a lovely lad and you are giving him the opportunity to show this xx :yes.gif:

Good to see Sooty today. Nice day for walking and our boy didn't put a paw wrong. A bit of paddock time, followed by some hanging around in the yard and then a walk in the woods. Sooty was very good accepting treats from Diana and Lynne.

Another fine outing with the man in black. Very friendly and unassuming boy is Sooty.
We headed to the paddock.

He likes to stand atop and watch the world around.

Sooty went to the field yesterday. He was very good in the van and enjoyed the freedom and the mooching around. He's doing well with his desensitisation to the leads and has only ragged them when he hasn't been out for a while or I've changed his kennel exit routine. Having said that, he has not grabbed the arms or hands, so is also developing his own inhibition bravo1.gif .
Just to underscore that point I have included 1 video where he's waiting for me to throw something for him to chase. He obviously wants what I've got in my hand but doesn't attempt to grab it.
He's also been very polite at meeting people in the yard, and today had a nice shower and tea tree shampoo. Not sure it would have been his first choice of recreation but he was very good about it.
