Haze's Story: Haze came in on welfare grounds. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Haze is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Haze came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

Haze - Male - around 2 years old. People friendly, energetic but just boisterous.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Haze is my "Dog of the Day"

AT LAST Haze has arrived with us...I've waited so many months to help him. Haze is SCRUMMY He is chunky and has a puppy-type feel about him even though he has just turned 3. He has spent the last year in kennels having been removed from his home emaciated. Haze has great people skills and his instinct is to lick as soon as he is offered a hand. On one occasion I did see a slight flinch but feel he has come well passed his dark past and is an amazing being.

Haze's colour is glorious Bright Orange and Pure White. Haze is in very good condition and the kennel staff who handed him over was really upset losing him but knowing we will find him his home. He needs a BullBreed family as his greeting is full on bordering on a body barge with a kiss as your reward which you will witness in one of the videos below. You need to be steadied to receive it. Can't wait to see RescueRemedies volunteers embrace him and gift him his foundation for his new family. He really was the easiest walk, through the woods today I didn't know I had him on the end of the lead.

Haze is both a gentle soul and a playful pup!
He is chunky and usually weight = strength, but we were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful his walking was! Slack leads and lots of sniffing thumbs.gif
We passed dogs, bikes and runners and Haze was completely unbothered, he waited patiently for them to pass with slack leads and watched with mild interest and wagging tail.

Lynne was not joking about the body barge!! 0002.gif] but it is just playful excitement, no mouthing just pure chest 😂

Treats do seem to encourage this excitement, we tried ‘sit’ a few times for a picture which resulted in excited bursts. But further on in the walk we kept treats in pockets and asked for a sit and he did so gladly…. However, the sit quickly turned to a down, which quickly turned to a slump 😂 sitting apparently uses too much energy 0002.gif] so no successful pictures!

Sit… flop… same thing right?

Haze is a big, friendly chunk of a dog. Getting a harness on him was a challenge because he was so excited to see me and just wanted to jump up and give kisses. He does not realise his size! With the harness eventually all clipped on, I took a deep breath and headed out with him. I need not have worried about his size and strength, as he was really good on the lead, not pulling at all. Once out on the grassy area, we met Tam who had promised to help me with his photoshoot. Having been warned, I reigned in his excited launch to greet Tam and then handed over the leads. He was very well behaved while I took his photos, as we kept him calm and he was soon off for a walk with Tam.

Oh my goodness this boy is divine love4.gif
I had noticed Haze when passing his kennel in the morning yesterday and just knew that he was going to be my kind of boy and of course I was not disappointed thumbs.gif
I had been told that Haze can be a little excited in his kennel and it is just pure joy at seeing a kind friend and wanting to share that big old Haze love Kiss of love.gif he is a big boy and he absolutely is desperate to show off his loving side, I was more than happy to suck up this beautiful boys clumsy attempts at showing the love Kiss of love.gif

Once out and about Haze is super easy, he plods along at a lovely pace, he was a proper treat actually thumbs.gif it’s crazy when you walk a big dog like Haze and you discover that they are easy peasy to walk, everything we passed Haze was not phased, we met dogs, people no reaction at all, just so blinking happy with life love4.gif

Haze is absolutely a big old chunk of pure happiness, every time I looked at him during our walk he had a massive smile on his face thumbs.gif how funny that we have all used the word chunk to describe our Haze, I’d just like to say that he’s not huge, he is just pure, chunky perfection, solid and dependable and the most wonderful lump of loveliness. he has a glorious red, glossy coat, he is perfectly in proportion and very, very ready to make friends with anyone who is up for it Kiss of love.gif

Haze is indeed a very friendly boy and I got a lovely welcome in the kennel although much calmer than I was expecting.
On our walk he was very calm apart from one moment of jumping up for attention when we hit the open grass. He quickly calmed down and we carried on our walk which was very relaxing as he walks so nicely.
He has the physique for a good cuddle, stocky but not too large so just the right size for a hug which he certainly enjoys!

I have walked Haze twice recently. What a magnificent boy. He is really friendly, desperate to please and very obedient. He sits beautifully, very useful when he has got a bit excited and jumps up for attention.
He likes affection, walks without pulling, and seems to be dog & human friendly.
I hope he finds his loving home soon. love4.gif

Haze is becoming a favourite of mine to walk. Today we ended up in the paddock which he loves. Soaking in the paddling pool and catching balls are definitely a favourite pastime.

As we walked back to his kennel he insisted on a cuddle in the Poets Hut.

Big and Bouncy Haze!

What a lovely boy he is! I’ve taken him out a couple of times know and he’s made such an improvement in a small amount of time!

He sits and lays downs beautifully and does enjoy a belly rub! He’s a big puppy at heart so someone who can help with his training would be amazing! He’s a big loveable boy! Once he’s calmed down and had a dip on his pool he will come up for a cuddle 🥰

Looking forward to our next walks!

Becca was in the paddock with Haze yesterday and I took over so she could take another dog out and I could spend some time with him.

I love how he enjoys "bathtime" so much! 0002.gif]
