Bailey's Story: Bailey lost his home as he had a go at a dog on his walk. He is a great personality and good around people; excited around dogs. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Bailey is neutered, chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Bailey was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Bailey's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: We were asked to help Bailey after his family who had had him all his life gave up on him following an altercation with another dog
Bailey came into our Rescue on the 6th Aug 22

I picked up Bailey yesterday and brought him into the Rescue. He gave me a nice hello and was happy to jump into my car into a crate. He settled well and was happy travelling in a car. He is a very friendly boy and the vet nurse who handed him over to me said he had the run of the vets out back for the day before coming to us, and everyone loved him. He was happy to be vaccinated and checked over by the vet. It was a pleasure to meet him and loved the video of him playing ball with Lynne.

What a friendly little boy! He was so happy to go out into the woods although he was a bit vocal as he barked a lot at Lenny lurcher walked by Becca. He stopped the barking when we went in front and only remembered to start barking again when he remembered Lenny was behind him.
He is a great little dog - very dinky and walks very nicely. We went to the river as it was such a hot day but he was not too interested in going in the water.
I so enjoyed my walk with this little man and can't wait to walk him again.

I walked this little sweetheart again today. He is friendly and so affectionate and loves his treats. We walked through the cool of the woods and it was a completely uneventful walk as we met no one and no dogs. I took him to the river but he wasn't too sure about that and just contented himself with a little drink. Gorgeous boy!

Well there we go, I'm in love again. Saw this dinky little dog the other day trying to get my attention as I was taking Jimms out from the kennel opposite, so even though the weather was pretty appalling I decided Bailey and I should meet up today. This little dog does not know me at all but I was greeted with a full body wiggle, he accepted a biscuit, sniffed my leads and then we were away. He likes to set quite a fast pace, refused to let the rain damp his style, barked when he saw MaggieMay ahead of us with Anne, which Maggie found distracting, so we passed them by and once he was in the lead he decided she wasn't important at all. He's gorgeous with a typical terrier type busyness, and he's so cute

Bailey enjoyed his walk in the beautiful Surrey Hills. He travelled very nicely in the car and was super excited to arrive and get going. The presence of other walkers and families didn’t phase him and equipped with his squeaky ball (borrowed from Spencer!) he was raring to go. Although Bailey can be worried by other dogs, I found it wasn’t a problem as long as we kept a safe distance and didn’t allow any marauding dogs to get too close. If i hadn’t made him stop regularly for water breaks I think he would’ve carried on all day non stop! A happy, playful and friendly little boy.
