Luna's Story: Luna was rescued Oct 21 and since lived in a caravan with a couple. Luna has had 4 incidents with other off lead dogs running over when she was on a long wire attached to the caravan. Staffies do not like dogs in their face. On the whole she is fine with dogs and did enjoy dog friends. Despite this the site owner was insistent unless she goes her owners were being evicted. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Luna is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Luna was in boarding kennels near Gatwick and now in foster as a single dog whilst awaiting her new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Here's Luna! Love love love

Its been a massive project this week to save her life. Her owners were prepared to take her anywhere and we managed to get her fatal vet appointment moved from Friday to Wednesday with the time draining away as we had already pushed the boat out to save Simba, Reign and Rosiepickle the week before and borrowed kennels into the future.

Special thanks to Bella, G'Marco, Dani, Claire in Bournemouth, her now ex-owners ... and all our volunteers and staff at the kennels WE DID IT! and here she is...

Luna (5).JPG
Luna on a 'hot' but cooling down late afternoon pottering about the meadow paddock.

When I was looking down the line earlier that morning I was seeing this staffie head looking at me through the mesh 3 kennels along. My God do we have a black staffie I thought and it took awhile to click this was little Luna. Her body shape has the hint of Malamute husky in as does her tail and her muzzle is influenced...but she has the 'rose' ears of the staffie especially when she focuses ahead and her character is Staffie also . I moved her into Staffierescue section as she is proudly a staffie cross with a staffie feel and everything to love she has in ample proportions.

Luna is spayed on Monday and then we can earnestly look for her new owners.

I met and walked lovely Luna today and all I can say is wow, she is just perfect. Very friendly, walked on a loose lead, was good with passing traffic, dogs and people. Lots of cuddles later, I reluctantly returned her to her kennel. Lynne said isn't she scrummy and I have to agree, very taken with her. Thank you for saving this wonderful dog Lynne Kiss of love.gif

Luna and I popped out for an afternoon walk yesterday. What a delightful little dog she is! She was so friendly and pleased to see me when I entered her kennel and we were straight off! I get the impression that Luna would be happy to accompany her new family on any adventures possible, she’s got a real eager to please feeling about her. Once we were back at the kennels, she couldn’t possibly let me go without a good belly rub!

Luna and I finished off my walking yesterday together. She was excited to see me and be going out but she obeyed when I asked her to sit to put the leads on. Out and about she is a joy to walk, very easy on the lead, very responsive to your voice. When we got back she rolled on her back and very plainly said please tickle my tummy, so I did. She is an absolute little charmer love4.gif out of interest she took absolutely no notice of Stephen and Achilles when they passed us, we had stepped aside off the path, but really absolute no reaction whatsoever.

I got to walk lovely Luna again yesterday. She is just such great company and loves it when I talk to her, so attentive. We had a plod to the stream for a paddle and a drink. Luna was more playful this time, I can really see her lovely character coming through now.
