Chase's Story: Sold for £750 on to a farm and wasn't good around sheep and farmer insisted he went that day! Passed on to sister with large family who were dog novice. Chase was bonding well with parents but didn't cope with such a busy household with 6 others and was living on his nerves and bit, during intense management eg putting on harness. He is a grumblepuss needs terrier savvy person/ family! Was homed and couple got the measure of him but then a person put a sudden outstretched hand and Chase bit and sadly he came back. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Chase is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Chase was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Chase's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Chase's owners called and ask if we could take as they had a large family with many visitors and Chase has biting out of not coping.

Chase came into our Rescue 8th August 2021

Laura went to meet Chase yesterday and brought him out for his walk. He was not sure about posing for his photos and was glad to get away on his walk around the woods with Laura. Typical terrier was way too busy to stop still long enough to get his picture taken.

Dream of a little dog to walk - typical terrier behaviour - nose to the ground - ears and eyes alert for everything round him. Such a friendly little dog - he jumps up for cuddles and is now taking treats very nicely. He is very motivated by treats which always seems to make life easier. He was not so dog reactive today and really enjoyed starting his walk with much bigger RR mates Jack and Tommy. He wasn't so friendly when we came across his pen neighbour Bruno being walked by Tricia but then neither was Bruno. Chase is a little treasure - just can't wait to walk him again. love4.gif

I met Chase for the first time today, as Helen mentioned he is a typical terrier, very busy nose to the ground, then up at the trees looking for squirrels and birds. Chase was not happy when a dog passed us, and he let them know! He takes treats very gently, I look forward to walking him again Kiss of love.gif

I have been enjoying getting to know Chase recently since he came in, and what a little cutie he is! He is always full of energy and LOVES to play fetch! He also loves to visit the stream, especially on hot days to cool off! He’s a great little character and it's a pleasure spending time with him ☺️

I had a lovely second walk with Chase today, he is such a fun little lad, he spends most of the walk watching for squirrels, then he tries to climb the tree!!. He has started to respond to me on the walk, he takes treats very gently. When he is not looking for squirrels, he is checking out the undergrowth, such a handsome boy Kiss of love.gif

Denise and Richard stayed overnight and came bright and early to meet terriers. Chase stole their hearts and is currently on route to his new life..

Chase enjoyed 1 month holiday but proved nervous to the outstretched hand and fuss. He is in that world of beginning to enjoy handling, which is obviously not something he had much of as a puppy, and fully trusting. He can be a little sharp with quick graze bites as a warning. We will continue to work with Chase to get him more trusting of his surrounding, peple and socialised with other dogs.

We are confident he will learn to trust more with time.
