Gemma and I spent a few hours at the Rescue on Friday and Sully was definitely on the list, as he is one of her favourites.
We encouraged him to take a walk off site, but he wouldn't have it But he did manage to stretch his legs around the ground - zig-zagging across them and even completing a whole lap before we headed to poets hut for cuddles (the paddock was occupied).
He's such a gentle hunk of a dog - handsome with it too!

I met Sully for the first time today. We had a slow walk around the grounds, stopping for sniffs, treats and cuddles. He was calm, greeted walkers he knew happily, and ignored the barking dogs he walked past. I look forward to taking him out again.

So last night was our kennel sleepover fundraiser and my chosen roommate for the night was this most wonderful boy
He looked very confused to see me at first as it was dark and he had settled down for bed.
I got him out so he could go to the toilet before we settled down for the night.
I’d made my bed up and then another one next to me for Sully. It seems he didn’t fancy that idea as he got straight on to my bed with me and of course I didn’t mind and loved that he wanted to share with me
We had a snuggle and before long he was softly snoring and looked content.
He slept soundly for a while until some of the other dogs started barking so he got up to investigate. He soon decided that being in bed was the better option
. He woke up a couple of times in the night, mainly when there was some barking by his neighbours. But he just found a new spot to lay and went back to sleep after some more cuddles
And another massive bonus was that he was clean in his kennel all night. What a good boy!!
Now if you have read Sully’s page, then you will have seen that this wonderful boy has made his way into my heart just by being him. I adore him.
He’s funny without realising it, full of character and such a gentle boy when he knows and trusts you and he loves his people with every part of him. He gives you a Sully welcome and is so happy to see you. He looks at you with eyes full of love.
I would like nothing more than to see this special boy in a home of his own getting the love and affection he so desperately deserves. He will love you unconditionally and while I know this post is not of him in a home, hopefully it shows how truly wonderful he is and he just loves to be loved.
Sadly I am not in a position to offer this fabulous boy a home as I already have dogs but I know that without a doubt, whoever it is that he is waiting for to give him his forever home will always have a smile on their face when they are with him.
He doesn’t ask for much, just a quiet life, in a home of his own, with people who love him and that he can love back. That will make for a very happy Sully.
He has been waiting a long time for the happy ending that he craves and I really do hope his perfect person, or people, find him soon

I expected nothing more from our boy
Thank you Simone for highlighting Sully’s beautiful qualities
he is that boy who will give his all, he has the biggest heart and will love you forever
Sully has come such a long way here at RR, I will never forget meeting him when he first arrived, since then he has opened his heart up to so many new walkers, he really doesn’t need much, just a whole lot of love and maybe some tasty snacks
love, love, love this boy and am so happy that he has so many lovely new walkers

Sully had a spring in his step today and had a lovely walk with Austin, Ruby Tues and Selwyn.
Sometimes Sully isn’t too keen on walking far so to see him having a little jog and enjoying his walk was amazing. I do love this boy. So full of love and character

Sully (n): a gorgeous, chunky hunk of love
I was very privileged to be introduced to Sully recently and took him for our first walk the other day.
Sully was pleased to see me. We had some 'hello' strokes - he has the softest fur - and I harnessed him up no problem.
Sully is pretty lazy! He was very reluctant to leave his kennel but we made it out, after some serious coaxing and some of the other volunteers' waggling their treats at him!
Once out, Sully was a bit start and stop. We got as far as the lane before Sully wanted to return to the kennels. He spied Lenny Lurcher (who also wasn't up for leaving the kennels!) and decided he'd be happy to follow him around the grounds instead, so off we set.
It was then that I was treated to Sully's trot. It seems Sully has two speeds;
1. dead slow/immovable
2. a fast trot
There doesn't seem to be anything in between! There were a few times we went from almost stationary to Sully suddenly breaking into a trot and me jogging to keep up with him!
Sully tired of following Lenny Lurch and we headed off to the small paddock. Sully had a good old mooch about, did some digging for treasure and came to me for cuddles (Sully is VERY cuddly!).
After leaving the paddock, Sully spotted Poirot and broke into a trot to catch up with him. Unfortunately, Monsieur Poirot was a bit wary of big old Sully trotting up behind him so we hung back a bit and then went off the other way.
Well, that was enough exercise for the day for Sully, it seemed. We went back to the car park where he wanted to get into an open car boot and refused to move away from it. Sully is obviously very ready to be whisked away from kennels and into a home.
Having been reluctant to leave his kennel; Sully was then super reluctant to go back to it. Luckily, Darren was going the same way and Sully was happy to follow him. Once back in his kennel, we had some more cuddles and I said 'goodbye'.
I think Sully is a wonderful, big softie, lazy bones! He clearly doesn't require a huge amount of exercise. Sully would be happy cosying up on a big, comfy sofa, being covered in cuddles, being given the odd yummy treat and the opportunity to potter about outside a couple of time a day.
I think he's rather wonderful.

I hung out with gorgeous boy Sully again today.
I say "hung out" rather than "walked" because about 70% of our time together was spent pottering about, watching, sniffing, stroking, sitting down, cuddling and chatting - well, me chatting to him really.
We did manage to make it out of the grounds and some way down the lane before Sully decided that was enough of that and so, we returned to the kennel grounds to mooch a bit more.
We visited the paddock but Sully wasn't much keen on the mud. At one point, he seemed to get himself stuck on the bottom step of the wooden pyramid; trying to work out how to get back off it without having to jump into the mud.
I really enjoy hanging out with Sully. He's generally very chilled, extremely affectionate and in absolutely no rush to go anywhere!
Sully would be an AMAZING dog for a chilled-out home, where he can snuggle and potter about to his heart's delight.
