Bleu Staffie DofB 2019 RRemedies Centre
Re: Bleu Staffie DofB 2019 RRemedies Centre
I walked the lovely Bleu again on Thursday. He has a real joy for life, is very enthusiastic and happy, and loves being out in the countryside. He walks quite quickly, but stops to watch other animals - very cute. I enjoy walking this little boy

I took Bleu to the paddock yesterday, and we played ball, which he loves. On entering the paddock he grabs a ball, then runs around waiting for one to throw balls. He gets a lot of exercise quite quickly, it as he gets tired we go fora walk to the stream, which works very well. Love this boy

Bleu was such a good boy yesterday. After we left the kennel he grabbed the leads and pulled me to the paddock so he could play his favourite game of chasing the tennis ball. We had 10 minutes in the paddock and Bleu barely stopped running, by which time he was fairly puffed, so we went for a longish walk during which he behaved impeccably. We passed 3 different dogs and Bleu was totally disinterested. He really enjoyed his time out.

I’ve recently had the joy of becoming acquainted with our boy Bleu. He really had captured my heart. As Geoff says he does have a bit of a penchant for leads but it’s really just out of excitement and nerves. I’m learning Bleu likes to be on the go so any interest in leads disappears when he’s on his mission. Bleu and I have some lovely adventures and he seems to be relaxing with me. We have been practicing stopping and sitting for a treat (some of his kibble so not to upset his skin) on our walks. He is learning that this is fun and that there are better things to be eaten than leads and he doesn’t need to worry.

Bleu had a blast in the paddock a couple days ago. He's very ball motivated and non-stop running while in the paddock. When leaving the paddock he was fab at staying still while putting his harness on, he was not interested in chewing the leads either!
We had a little mooch around the grounds at a slow pace where he was happy sniffing.
I definitely recommend giving him a run-a-round in the paddock before walking him as this seemed to help him not pull as much during our walk.
Bleu would make a fantastic companion for someone who appreciates his quirks and energy.

I was lucky enough to spend my night with Bleu at our kennel sleepover fundraiser! I’ve walked Bleu for a long time and didn’t think he was as affectionate as he was found to be! I went into his kennel to set up for the night and he was just so happy to have me in there. His tail wagged and wagged until he settled down next to me. His little face filled with glee and he nestled right into me. He spent most of the night under my cover right next to me on my bed. When we were awake, it was gentle plays and giving me his belly to rub. He’s just the most affectionate dog who I think was so grateful to have someone to sleep with that night.
Don’t get me wrong, Bleu needs work with his lead ragging, dare I say he’s getting a bit better but he needs consistancy and someone with patients to teach him. Otherwise on his walks he is a breeze, he doesn’t pull, he’s not dog reactive and the minute he gets board of chewing his leads (which I think is stress/energy related), he’s a joy to be around.
This doggo hasn’t had it easy being returned to the kennels from a home environment, but he deserves another chance to show people how lovely he is.

Selwyn and I had another lovely walk with Lola and Bleu today.
We explored the local fields and housing development, before heading back to the rescue.
They were all so well behaved and really enjoyed spending time with each other.

Bleu was a happy boy today. He really enjoyed chasing tennis balls in the paddock, and when exhausted we went for a decent walk. Bleu is very friendly and behaved very well when passing other dogs.
