Bleu has come on to our books and comes back into our kennels on the 28th February due to his owners change of work.

I walked Bleu today. What a fabulous boy. Not interested in treats or toys, he grabbed a lead (gently) as soon as I was in the kennel, we clipped the leads on and off for the walk. He held on to a lead until we were about to exit the grounds, then he let go and we had an excellent, long, easy walk. Bleu was out in front on taut leads, but no pulling. He didn’t stop much for sniffing, but matched my pace. Did not react to 2 dogs we passed. Delightful walk. On returning to the kennel he grabbed a lead, but then decided the treat was a more attractive proposition and we said farewell. love4.gif

Bleu and I had a lovely walk today. He took hold of the leads as soon as I entered the kennel, then we clipped the leads on and off we went for a long walk. The leads were released as we left the grounds, and we had a normal walk. He is a pleasure to walk, very easy and non-reactive. Bleu would thrive in the right loving home love4.gif

I walked Bleu again today. As I entered his kennel, he took hold of a lead, in preference to a sausage. I realised that his harness needed adjusting, and he let go of the lead and stood quietly while I redid the harness, what a good boy. After I attached the leads he took hold of them while we exited the kennel block. Once out in the car park I told him ‘NO’ firmly, he let go of the leads and we had a fabulous walk. He was non-reactive to other dogs/animals, and even went nose to nose with a cute miniature EBT who was equally friendly. A pleasure to walk Bleu.

Bleu is always so happy to be going for a walk. He still wants to hold a lead, waits for the leads o be attached, then a bit of tug-of-war until we are away from the kennel block. He walks in front, exploring the surroundings with minimum stopping. He is non-reactive and real fun to walk. A real little character love4.gif

When I walked Bleu on Thursday I tripped over a tree root and went horizontal! Bleu was most concerned, rushed back to give my face several licks, and checked I was OK. Very sweet, and caring. We continued our walk and later had to step aside for 2 horses on a fairly narrow path. I held Bleu’s harness, but he was as good as gold. After the horses had passed and I released him, he grabbed the leads, but after a firm ‘NO’, he released them and we continued our walk.
I think some of the lead grabbing is stress related.

Bleu still grabs the leads on exiting kennel, but releases them once we leave the ground. He doesn’t stop much for sniffs, but keeps up a good pace. He loved the stream, and had a lovely little play. Very good about the other dogs we passed - non-reactive, he was more interested in the cows and chickens. Lovely boy.
