Rocky and I went straight to the paddock on Monday, where he had a lovely time chasing tennis balls and attempting to get 3 in his mouth at once. After the paddock we went for a Potter around the grounds and out into the woods a bit. Back in his kennel we had a game with one of his rubber toys. I took him out a second time before I left just for a short walk and a head scratch as he loves company.

Monday was Rocky day again. He's really getting to know and trust me now. He likes a head scratch and stroke and even some back stroking. He loves a game with his toys when we are back in his kennel and when I bent down to pick up my leads to leave him I got a very gentle kiss. I don't know which one us was the most surprised. As he still doesn't walk far before heading back I now give him a second walk before I leave.

Rocky was all smiles on Monday and ready to do his check of the grounds. Back in his kennel I gave him a new toy duck which lost it's head immediately. As usual I took him out again before I went home. We just went around the grounds again, going past the paddock I sat down on the wooden bench and Rocky jumped up beside me, gave me some kisses and had some treats. He sat with me for a little while and had some head strokes before we carried on. He is allowing more stroking of his back and I think beginning to enjoy more contact.

Rocky took me for a long walk today. He was very happy to go down the lane and off into Smallfield. Although generally taut leads, no real pulling and he was beautifully behaved around other dogs and humans.
He was a joy to walk, and he really enjoyed the different sights and smells.

Continued my increasing friendship with Rocky on Monday. He now gives lovely kisses and jumps up onto the bench by the paddock when I sit on it and ask him to come up beside me. He still won't venture far from the grounds with me but we did get half way up the road before he wanted to head back. He is getting more comfortable with having his back stroked now although we are taking it easy.

Ian, I am amazed but also jealous to hear of the relationship between you and Rocky.
He has put so much trust in you on such a short time, you must be a good soul!
I’m so glad he is making new friends and still gaining confidence in people!
Today, as usual, we let Rocky lead the way and to our surprise off the grounds we went and he kept going and going, leading us on a good loop!
It has been a long time since he’s left the grounds for us, and here’s hoping the better weather is giving him better vibes! The rain must have been refreshing today

rstephenson, sorry I don't know your first name. The first Rocky kiss came as a surprise to both of us, it happened as I bent down to pick up my leads. We both looked at each other and then he gave my face a gentle lick which now seems to be a regular thing. He jumps onto the bench straight away when asked and last Friday onto the table of one of the picnic tables. He allows gentle back strokes but too much pressure and he gives you one of his looks. As for walking last Friday was the first time he has gone for a long walk with me outside the grounds, must have been the sunny weather. As you say I think with more people walking him he is gaining confidence in people and starting to show what a great dog he is.

Another great walk with Rocky yesterday, again he led us on a good loop but first we had to stop to play in a big puddle!

I walked Rocky last Monday, he also found a large puddle near the paddock and quickly turned it into a muddy hole covering himself and me in mud. He was in there over 20 minutes and I had to get one of the girls to get him out with a slip lead as his collars would have come off. We only managed to wash his face as he just wanted to play with the hose.
