It's steady progress with Rocky but I think he's beginning to like a bit more contact and interaction. He still only walks off site with me occasionally, We've only got as far as the river once but we'll keep trying. Just love him can't resist that face.

Walked my favourite boy last Monday and got the usual gentle kiss when I bent down to put his harness on. He was very keen to be off to the paddock and the water pool. He wasn't quite so obsessed with it this week and readily came out to play catch with a tennis ball. Still only wanted to walk around the grounds but he seems happy with that.

I was away last week so didn't see Rocky and this week I don't know if he had missed me or just thought my face was dirty as it got a good washing. Then off to the paddock for his dip in the water bath. After his water game it's tennis ball chasing time. He now brings it back and drops it ready for me to throw the next ball. He was too tired to walk far after that and went back to his kennel. I took him out again for quick toilet walk before I went home. He had other ideas and set off past the water works and over the common which is the most he has walked with me for a while.

Rocky’s favourite place is the paddling pool in the paddock, and it’s very hard to get him to go anywhere else
So the last few weeks we’ve headed to the paddock where he kicks all the water out of the pool until it’s empty, has as short game of fetch and then heads back to his kennel

We haven't been able to get to the kennels for a few weeks, and were very excited to see our boy.

As always, getting his harness on and getting him out of his kennel is now easy peasy. Getting him to go anywhere other than the paddock however is somewhat impossible at the moment. So after we made a good attempt at trying to get him off the grounds, including trying to get him to follow his bestie Emma, we headed to the paddock, for what is clearly his very strict routine now ...

Kick ALL the water out of the bath, ALL of it!
Followed by a nice little game of fetch, which was a first for us with Rocky, so that was lovely.
A little lie down and a chew of a tennis ball to recover.
A short walk around the groungs and 'home'.

Even if he won't walk far, It's really lovely seeing Rocky having some fun, and enjoying the sunshine.

I was away for a week so hadn't seen Rocky for a fortnight but I still got a happy greeting and the usual kiss. He's always keen to get his harness on so he can get to the paddock and the water tray. He has his usual splash about and when it's empty it's time to chase a tennis ball. He's not the most graceful runner but really enjoys running for the ball and bringing it back. He's a great boy and I miss him when I am away.

Rocky is always eager to get his harness on so he can get to the paddock and the water trough which he has to empty before playing ball. He loves chasing a tennis ball although he's no Greyhound more like a Hippo viewed from behind ( sorry Rocky) but such a lovely face.

Monday was Rocky day, we started with the usual water session and ball game. We then set off on our usual walk around the grounds but to my surprise he set off up the kennel road and along the road to the start of the bridal way. He then carried on across the common and we ended up going past the Keepers cottage and back to the kennels. It's the furthest he's walked with me and I hope he will do the same next week as he seemed to really enjoy being out.

Wow Rocky, that's quite a walk - a little longer than my normal route. Well done!

I've not walked you yet and have decided that I am going to ask to be introduced to you on my next visit. You've always taken my treats ever so nicely so I think we'll soon be walking-buddies - I look forward to that.
