Current Status: Homed
Lexie's Story: Lexie was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Welsh council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Alyson is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Lexie was in boarding kennels near Gatwick then in foster with another older dog whilst awaiting her new family. Lexie was homed in with another dog Reggie and they are both now looking for a new home together due to marriage breakup.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Lexie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: We were asked to help Lexie from our Welsh friends as many dogs are losing their lives in the Covid 19 Pandemic
Lexie came into our Rescue on the 19th March 2020

Re: Lexie Staffie x DofB ?02.19 Redhill Temp Foster
Lexie has been in foster with us for a few days now and what an amazing dog she is
She takes all the love you have to give and returns it tenfold. Her tail is a weapon that never stops wagging when she's with you. She LOVES her humans.
Perfect in the home and no accidents. We are still working on her staying in her own bed all night but she's getting more and more confident each day and this will come with time. Walks so nicely on a loose lead.
Today she had her first playful times and it was lovely to see. She spotted a cat in the garden and she was OFF after it so will need to keep an eye on that.
We are working on some training while stuck at home and she's such a quick learner. Things we will continue to work on are manners to stop her jumping up on people in excitement and waiting as we leave the room (currently my shadow). It's only been a few days and I can't wait to spend more time with her as she comes out of her shell.
Just what an amazing dog.

Re: Lexie Staffie x DofB ? 02.2019 Redhill Weekend Foster
I got the chance to walk the beautiful girl, Lexie, this morning. She is a very special soul and I fell in love with her straight away. I got a happy greeting in her kennel and she was keen to get out. Once out and toileting done, she walked slowly on the lead as her attention was on sniffing and exploring with her nose. She can get a little anxious and would look up for reassurance now and again. Lexie loves cuddles but she does get a little overexcited by the attention and jumps or climbs up to get as close as possible.
Re: Lexie Staffie x DofB 02.2019 Redhill Weekend Foster
Sweet little Lexie has come home with us for a few days. She is a delight to have to stay. She is a little timid and reserved at the moment but SO happy to be here and getting some attention. She is a sensible girl and sat in the shade in the garden for a lot of the afternoon. You get the feeling she hasn't been made to feel safe and secure and just wants to be loved. A couple of times when sitting on the floor I have been licked to death and she has clung to me in desperation but she is easily settled and this will lessen once she feels at home.
She has been so good around Bertha and also one of Bertha's best friends Milo who came over to say hello on our teatime walk.
Lexie is a lovely natured dog and doesn't have a bad bone in her body, wanting to be everyone's friend
