Hugo enjoyed his holiday. If you keep Hugo away from the things that make him nervous he's as good as gold. (P.S I walked him without the muzzle because there were few people about and plenty of space).

It’s easy to forget how far Hugo has come, as he is such a perfect boy.
His friends hold a special place in his heart, and we are always greeted him hugs and kisses. He is such a cuddle bum.
He walks very well, mostly slack leads, gentle strolls and sniffs.
His reactivity really is minimal and more than manageable, he feels very secure with his muzzle on and in the company of a trusted person, he knows you’ll keep him safe.
As you can see, Hugo regularly accompanies other dogs on walks and really really enjoys the company. He is nervous of approaching/off lead dogs, but with space he will pass or wait.
The same applies to people he doesn’t know, he is wary of those approaching but ok with space, but we’ve all been taught about ‘stranger danger’!!
There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful he is, and as long as you are aware of his little worries, he really is no issue!
He’s been waiting so long for his forever home and he so deserves it!

As of this month it will be nearly 6 years of walking this boy and what a wonderful little dog he is. I cannot tell you how much I adore spending time with him. He’s come a very long way over the years. Learning to trust more and learnt to behave impeccable around his walkers and other walkers dogs.
Hugo is almost the stooge dog of RR showing how to be a good calm dog around all the newbies that come in. He’s like the wise Uncle that puts them in line and they all love walking with him.
His gentle, kind and loving nature is what makes me love this boy. I often take him out on long walks and have chats with him along the way. It’s like he knows when I’m sad or just needing a cuddle which he is always willing to give.
He loves to play with a tug toy and still acts like a young dog but Hugo is now 8 years old and his muzzle is going grey and he has slower pace of walk now but he has so much love to give someone.
Hugo will always have trust issues with strangers but he is so manageable he doesn’t bark or jump up when he’s not happy but he will just try to pull towards any unwanted strange dogs. It’s more the terrier type dogs actually and never see it with any bull breeds.
Hugo is happy when he’s around low dog density areas and would feel that a rural home where he can have lovely long walks on his own with his walker. He is brilliant walking around any livestock and doesn’t doesn’t show any aggression or reactivity at all. I have taught Hugo many commands like sitting at thresholds, waiting and the Me command and as he is very food motivated he is easy to train.
Hugo is desperate for his forever home now as he is a long stay boy at RR. He’s more than ready for a home now and I know he would be the best companion.
