Hugo is always first on our list when we head to the kennels. He walks at a leisurely pace, taking in all the smells with slack leads.
He loves scritches and will gladly move to the side to receive them whilst people/bikes pass.
We always take him on a walk with another calm dog, Hugo is a confident boy and gladly leads the way and we’ve found he’s a good leader for those who are slightly shy.
The last 3 walks RR Boo has accompanied him and they are a lovely pair.
Hugo is such a gorgeous boy and so deserves a home. If you give this boy a chance you will be rewarded with a true best friend!

Hugo welcomed a new companion on his walk on Sunday, Bruce! It was our first social walk with Bruce and it was a great one!
Hugo is very respectful of his companions, and always shows them how to walk calmly and respectfully!
Usually Hugo follows rather than leads, as he can be quite slow and very leisurely with his smells.. but he enjoys a run/jog to catch up again!

There isn’t anything to say about Hugo that hasn’t already been said.
His reactivity has improved so so much, he really does ignore most things now and he is always on our list to walk because his walk is always the easiest!
He has proved himself to be a great companion for other dogs, but does seem prefer them to be similar size or bigger than him.
This has helped with passing dogs and he will wait patiently for them to go by.
He can still be unsure of approaching/passing people, but again, will wait patiently with space (and head scrubs!).
Hugo is a water baby. Today he enjoyed some freedom in the paddock and a being sprayed with the hose
Hugo is an absolute catch and so deserves his forever home with a family who can spoil him with love and guide him through his nerves

I took Hugo out for the first time yesterday. I took my time with him and talked to him for a while before we went on our way. He’s walked beautifully on the lead and paid no attention to a runner and a couple of cyclists. He walked lovely with Tyler and had some lovely time splashing around in the stream. (I thought I had filmed it but hadn’t pressed record )
I’m definitely a fan of this lovely boy

To my favourite boy Hugo. I love you so so much and light up my day every time I see you. Your loving, kind soul and your cheeky side eye are the best things I love about you. I adore our walks and adventures together and however long you are in rescue I will be by your side. If my circumstances were different you know I would take you home in a heart beat. You might be having another Christmas in rescue but we all love you very much and will give you the best day ever with treats and teddies .

My favourite boy Hugo. The light of my life. I can’t tell you how amazing this dog is. He has become the rescue stooge dog and does all the social walks with all the doggies that need an extra bit of confidence. Hugo takes it all in his stride and leads the way being the good boy he is. He is muzzle trained and will wear it because he does have some trust issues with strangers when he’s just not sure but once he knows you he is your best friend. We go on loads of adventures together. He is great in a home environment, travels well in the car and loves a good play in a secure field. Hugo has been in rescue a long time and is more than ready for his forever home now. Please give this dog a chance and I promise you he won’t let you down.

Friday Treat for best friends Hugo and Hector.
It was a beautiful day for walking so off we went with the best behaved boys for a sunny crisp walk to the local pub. We had a nice big outside seating area where both boys were very excited to sit and sniff about. We took it in turns to go inside the pub and we had a quick drink, some crisps and cuddles. We then had a lovely walk back to the kennels. Very good boys who loved their little adventure.

Hugo is always wonderful to walk!
Today we joined a large social walk with 6 companions! We joined Selwyn, Hector, Paddy, Patch, Sully and Rudy, and Hugo was such a gentleman with everyone!
When a ‘sensible dog’ was needed to calm the pack down, Hugo made his way to the front and mellowed everyone one out
Not a lot phases this boy anymore, and he is so ready for his forever home!
