Re: Felix Lurcher DofB 28.10.14 Gatwick Kenns
Felix came into our care last week. He was found running around roads evading capture. On the 2nd attempt the dog warden managed to catch this frightened boy via a catch pole. We decided to hand feed him to win his trust and after 4 days we were able to put a collar and harness on.
We have now gained trust and have neutered and vaccinated him. Felix was running in fleas and we have treated him. Felix is beginning to enjoy walks out with our volunteers. Here are a few pictures I took on his first walk in the paddock and a video

What a sweetheart. Can tell he trusts you Lynne
Re: Felix Lurcher DofB 28.10.14 Gatwick Kenns
I walked Felix on Wednesday whilst Geoff walked Chay, new dogs for both of us. Lynne introduced me to Felix as he is a timid boy, obviously used to hard words and hard hands in his past, his body has a fair few scars from a hard life. But what a gentleman this boy is. So easy to walk, gently by your side, happy to say hello to Chay who really wanted to be friends. Interested in the squirrels we saw, but no pulling, no lunging, just general bright eyed ‘ah yes a little squirrel’ type attitude. Had to be the gentlest most leisurely walk of the day with the two biggest dogs we walked! Felix flinched a little as I reached over him to unclip his leads back in kennels, but gentle words of reassurance let him know it was all fine. This boy needs a calm home, with quiet words and lots of love.

I took Felix out for the first time today. He really does want to make friends but still a bit unsure. Once the leads were on Felix was very keen to go out for a walk. He is an absolute dream to be with walking at a good pace stopping to sniff new smells on the way. Felix was phased when we went past a man out walking but I am sure in time this poor boy will overcome his nerves and start to trust people he does not know.

It was so lovely to see that Felix's confidence is gradually growing, although still a bit unsure he did let me attach his leads without too much hesitation. Felix was excited to be going out and would loved to have had a good run around but despite this he soon settled down and enjoyed his walk. He really is a gorgeous boy who enjoys having a fuss made of him. ![Heart fill with love.gif] Heart fill with love.gif]](./images/smilies/Heart%20fill%20with%20love.gif)

I walked Felix again this afternoon, his confidence has really improved so much. He is such a pleasure to walk, stopping once in a while to sniff all the new smells. As we walked through the woods given the chance Felix certainly would have loved to have chased the squirrels, he is very alert and interested in his surroundings. Such a gorgeous affectionate boy.

Felix and I had such a lovely walk yesterday afternoon. We walked along a narrow path and had a couple of bikes passing by, Felix was great we just stood to let them pass and carried on our way. Felix is so gentle and wonderful in every way. ![angel13.gif] angel13.gif]](./images/smilies/angel13.gif)

Had a walk today with felix, he was a little nervous to begin with but once we were out he settled and was a lovely walk. He’s a friendly boy once he knows you, very keen to meet people and enjoys lots of treats!
