Miley's Story: Miley is a retired Greyhound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Miley is now neutered, chipped, and undergoing vaccination. Miley came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Miley's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: We were asked to help Miley find her forever home

Miley has been with us just a few days and she’s already showing all her wonderful qualities.

She had her first pup-cup at the coffee shop and she’s spent some time in a couple of local pubs too.

Miley can be unsure of loud noises and fast/loud cars passing by, however with just a little reassurance she’s able to carry on with her walk.

We love fostering her and she’s been a real lady with her male kennel mate Farran.

Miley has the best smile and teefs!

She’s had no accidents in the house at all and is a perfect little foster - gives us endless laughs, especially when she attempts to break into her food bin before bed time lol

I met and walked Miley for the first time today, while she was in the kennels for a few days before going back to her fosterers. Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous girl she is! She was easy to harness and attach her leads, was very easy to walk, didn’t worry that it was very muddy and there were some big puddles. We walked on the pavement for a while, and she wasn’t worried by the cars going past. We met a few people walking their dogs and she wasn’t worried by them at all, she was interested but didn’t bark or react.
Once back at the kennels we saw quite a few other volunteer walkers in the car park, and they all just fell in love with her. She just showed them all how affectionate she is and lapped up all the fuss and attention.
I hope to walk you again Miley, next time you’re in the kennels - unless of course you find your forever home in the meantime. You gorgeous girl love4.gif

I had some work travel the past few days so it was Mileys first time back to kennels following a 2-week foster break with us and she seems incredibly happy to be back with us for a few days.

These are a mix of photos from today and the past week.

Miley is the Greyhound with less grey on her face.

Miley is so much fun to walk and really does enjoy a fuss but naturally like most Greyhound’s enjoys a loooong snooze.

On our way home today we met several Greyhound/Sighthound fans and she showed off her social skills.

The yoghurt pot photo is my favourite as both Farran and Miley enjoyed a good little lick of the empty pot.

We’re part time fosterers so I’m hoping someone very loving and deserving adopts Miley soon.
