Tarn's Story: Tarn was found abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Tarn is now neutered, chipped, and undergoing vaccinations. Tarn came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Caprice's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: We were asked to save Tarn's life as no rescues have come forwards for her.
Tarn came into RescueRemedies on the 27th October 25
Tarn (Caprice) Patterdale DofB ?06.06.2022 Horsham
Little Tarn emerged out of the dog warden's van tiny ?9kilos! She was lifted into my arms and I got a face wash. She in the fur looked totally different to the photo above. Black vaguely wiry in fur and movement. Under weight. Easy to handle but a little weasel she so will need a secure garden and exit management as she would disappear through a wrought iron gate. Examined, our vet was confident she didn't need a dental, teeth fine and aged around 3 years old. We chipped her and vaccinated her. Today she starts her 7 day panacur course and then will be neutered next week.
Everyone had a cuddle with her while her mind was engaged in licking and then alighting and off on the hunt

I had the pleasure of photographing our new arrival, sweet little Tarn. She was friendly and interested in her surroundings, and very cute!

I briefly met Tarn when Tricia was about to take her back to her kennel. She’s really dinky. She was soooo friendly and was keen on getting fuss and giving everyone lots of kisses, as you can see in the video. She’s absolutely adorable!

I walked Tarn today for the first time and what a cutie she is!! She’s so teeny and lovely. Walks really well and we went to the paddock where I thought she’d want a run around but instead she jumped straight on my lap for a cuddle. I thought she’d be comfier in the poets hut so we went there and she firmly plonked herself on my shoulder/ under my chin and enjoyed a stroke and watched the world go by - baring in mind this was the first time I’d met her she just cuddled right in, it was so nice

Walked Tarn for the first time yesterday. She is so tiny and light, I felt like my leads weighed more than she did! Such a sweetie - she is very affectionate and if you kneel down to talk to her she will come to you straightaway, try to jump on your knee and shower you with kisses. She was fine to be picked up too - not something I'd normally attempt with a new dog (!) but she almost jumped into my arms! She enjoyed her walk through the woods, walked at a good pace and didn't react to any dogs that we saw out and about.

Well what an angel Tarn is.
This was my first time walking her so to see her snuggled in her bed was the cutest sight.
She got up and greeted me enthusiastically while i popped leads on her.
Tarn was recently spayed so we had a short walk avoiding puddles then we went and sat in the walkers area where she met lots of new people who all absolutely adored her.
She sat beautifully on my lap snuggled in to me and it was quite a struggle for me to take her back so I carried her back in so she didn’t get wet and she went straight back in her bed.
She is so tiny and such a sweet friendly girl, I really hope her forever home is just around the corner so until then I will be happy to have cuddles and kisses.

Tim and Mo were delighted to meet little Caprice and offer her a foster place. They have firmed that up to a Homing Offer. Caprice (now Tarn) is so settled and very very happy!
