Ghost's Story: Ghost's owner lost her accommodation due to rental increase she couldn't afford. Ghost was made homeless too. His companion cat though they were always separated, was taken in by a member of the family. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Ghost is now neutered, is chipped, and fully vaccinated. Ghost came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Lynne asked if we would like to foster Ghost and with that cute face how could we refuse.

He travelled well in the car looking around him at all the different sights and sounds. He enjoys looking out of the window and taking it all in.

At home, Ghost has been very busy and is interested in absolutely everything. He is a bit of a chewer so just something to be aware of, he will get hold of shoes, toys, jump up at bins and constantly be on the look out for things to play with so keep high value items out of the way.

He loves his food and if you are eating will bark if he isn’t given any, he will sit for treats and enjoys a long lasting chew.

Ghost does like to play but can get over excited and a bit nippy quickly so we have tried to keep the energy low and if he does start mouthing stop and wait for him to calm down.

He walks well on the lead and enjoys meeting people and dogs. He certainly is a stunner and people like to stop and say hello. He can walk a good distance and has enjoyed going in the river and getting his feet wet.

Ghost would make someone a lovely companion, he is eager to please and pocket sized, he also likes a good belly rub. I have a feeling he won’t be with us for long.

Tried to get some pictures of Ghost when I met him at the vets but he was a little camera shy and maybe still groggy from the anaesthetic.

Ghost had his op this week and we were in a position to keep him a bit longer so thought why not :biggrin.gif:

IMG_4761.jpeg

Ghost continues to reveal more of his character the longer he stays with us. He has a lot of energy and does need to keep busy or he can get himself in to mischief. He particularly likes boxes and will root these out from any hiding place and chew them to bits, he will also bin dive given the opportunity. There are moments when he gets over excited and mouthy and needs redirecting on to a toy, or a firm no and time to calm down.

IMG_4762.jpeg

We have started giving him a puzzle toy with treats him which keeps him busy for a bit and he seems to enjoy.

He has been going on several long walks in the day, and does settle and sleep for a bit after these, but then seems to find his second wind roflmao.gif He walks well on the lead and has met other dogs well.

IMG_4759.jpeg

He is not particularly responsive to his name, but we do keep using it. He enjoys watching what is going on around him when in the car, and when we have parked up and waited he likes to put his paws on the dashboard for a closer look.

He does take treats gently but is not great when others will are eating, he will bark if he is not given some and start jumping up. We tend to eat in the other room so this isn’t a problem.

IMG_4760.jpeg

As he has a tendency to chew we haven’t left him on his own yet, and someone would probably need to work with him on this, or he would suit someone working from home.

IMG_4765.jpeg

I am sure some of the behaviour comes from having such an upheaval in the last few weeks and in his forever home he will start to settle. He has certainly turned lots of heads when out and about as he is a handsome boy! I don’t think he will be with us long.

Ghost, the adorable Frenchie, was an absolute delight to walk yesterday. He was so well-behaved, letting me put on his harness without any fuss and ignoring other dogs we passed. He walked like a pro, and his friendly and playful nature was on full display. His little funny breathing was so cute, and I can easily picture him as the perfect addition to a loving home.

Julie and Frank were delighted to come and meet dear Ghost this morning. Couldn't get over how dinky he is.
