Joanne Cane Corso DofB Sept 2024 RRemedies Centre
Current Status: Available
Joanne's Story: Joanne was taken out of a household as owner went to prison and children into care. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Joanne will be neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Joanne came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Joanne's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: 7.8.25: Hi Lynne, Hope you're well I'v got a 12 month old Cane Corso in that I really need to find space for.
She is great with people and dogs just very playful but she only a puppy. She has already timed out but we are desperately trying to find her space
Is there any chance you can help please
Kind regards S x

Oh my goodness, yet again my heart has been stolen
Joanne is a darling, I quite quickly realised that this sweet girl is a little unsure and anxious about some stuff, but she is very, very keen to make friends and oh so ready to move on and learn all about the good life. I just know our amazing walkers are going to work their magic and Joanne will find her feet very quickly
Joanne was so welcoming in her kennel, a little excited, but her neighbours were very noisy, but she completely ignored them heading out, what a good girl. Once out all Joanne wanted to do was relax and munch on some grass, so we took our time and slowly, slowly she relaxed (this beautiful girl needs loads and loads of quiet, gentle time, I get the feeling that she has experienced a lot in her short life) we did go to the paddock for her photo shoot, but she got a little over excited, Joanne is very much still a big puppy learning all about boundaries and almost certainly trying to navigate life, I feel desperately sad that she has not had all the early, fun stuff, but again that’s where we all come in.
We then headed out for a little walk and Joanne calmed down immediately and we had some lovely cuddles on the bench, there’s something about this girl, when we were sitting down for photos she cuddled in, held onto me with all her might and honestly the look she gives is a plea for understanding and that was me gone, I love her already
I’m so excited to see this beautiful girl find friends, move forward and find her most perfect forever home

Re: Joanne Cane Corso DofB Sept 2024 RRemedies Centre
I walked Joanne today for the first time and she’s great! Very excitable to leave her kennel and can be a bit bouncy but it’s just excitement! We walked with Raffie and I think initially she wanted to play with him but we carried on walking and she was happy to have him walking behind her.
Joanne walked lovely, sniffing everything in the woods and taking it all in. She’s only a baby so just wants to play! I’m not sure how well she knows her name or if she was just excited to be out as I only managed to get the one picture of her, she was too interested in everything around her! I look forward to walking Joanne again

What a sweetheart. Joanne is a total poppet. Small for a Cane Corso, but probably still growing, she is beautifully behaved and adorable. We met several off-lead dogs on our walk, and Joanne either ignored them, or wanted to play.
Very little pulling, easy walk, really interested in her surroundings….
Joanne likes cuddles and petting, and is a joy to walk

I managed to get a few more pictures of Joanne today. She’s such a lovely girl and has the softest fur! She can be strong on the lead but she’s just so excited to get out for a walk and is only a baby so needs to learn some things.
She’s very friendly with people and seems to behave well around dogs. We took Joanne to the paddock and she was very affectionate giving us cuddles but can become very playful if you play with her!

This wonderful bundle of joy has wiggled her way into my heart.
To echo all the other comments she really is a wonderful loving ball of big puppy energy. She really makes me smile on our walks. Joanne is full of joy and makes the most adorable little snuffles.

Re: Joanne Cane Corso DofB Sept 2024 RRemedies Centre
I’ve been walking Joanne every week for a few weeks now and she really is lovely. She can be bouncy and excitable leaving her kennel and for the first part of her walk but she’s easily manageable. She also can be quite strong when she wants to be but the longer she walks for the less she pulls on the lead. She’s clearly just exited to be out on a walk!
Joanne seems great with new people, very eager for attention and wants to say hello! She walks great with other dogs, can pull if they are in front on the walk but I think she just wants to play. She’s only a baby so has lots of energy!
Joanne has been great in the paddock, when she first came in she could get a bit too excited but today we went to the paddock and she was very well behaved. She played with the toys and also enjoyed a cuddle. I look forward to our walks each week and hopefully her forever family will see her soon

I walked this beautiful girl for the first time today! She really is just a playful pup! Getting her out of a kennel was easy, she was a little pulley as exiting but simply from excitement! We walked with another walker and Kenshi. Joanne gave no attention to her and was more interested in plodding on making little pig noises when sniffing. She is an absolute darling and I really hope she finds her forever home soon but for the meantime she will definitely be being added onto my list of regular dogs to walk!
Re: Joanne Cane Corso DofB Sept 2024 RRemedies Centre
I walked Joanne twice last week. What a lovely girl. She was quite excited to be going for a walk, but not a problem and once away from the kennels, she settled down to proper walking. She did not react to other dogs and was very friendly around people. Joanne was basically a happy little (or not so little) girl.
