A few words from my partner about Sweetie and some more pictures
:
We picked her up on Monday morning and we were told that we should go for a walk with her, come back to get one of the walkers/staff to help to get her in the car cause apparently she’s a bit nervous.
Surprise nr.1 - opened the car door and she jumped straight in without even thinking about it. No problem at all. Same on the journey.
At the beginning she was sniffing around, found her spot and started to relax. After a little while she calmed down, laid down and enjoyed the journey.
We went in the pet shop to buy her food .
Surprise nr.2 :
Yes obviously she was pulling a bit but gentle and it was easy to call her back. But not a single bark or sign of aggression or anything else negative. She’s so easy going.
Arrived at home where she had a good sniff around to explore her new foster home. Again - easy going. She’s completely clean and is making her business outside when we go for a walk. 10h sleep and not one toilet accident. Amazing.
She’s completely food orientated. So with some treats very easy to be motivated to learn orders like - sit, down, stay, bed, back, leave, paw, spin. She’s good with all of them, just struggles a bit with “stay” if it’s too long.
To be honest she likes to beg a bit when we humans are having dinner but that’s ok . She gives up after a while when she’s ignored.
While having a walk she’s completely relaxed. Easy going and not really interested in humans, dogs or cats. Just in pigeons. These are her interesting friends.
When she’s indoors her breed comes through. New noises like car doors etc are answered with a deep growl which stops again after couple of seconds.
To be honest she’s making u feel more safe at home. Very nice side effect.
She’s been a bit nervous and scared outside with the bin bags. But after we showed her that they are ok and not dangerous she’s ok with them now , same with Henry the hoover, not best friends but they found their agreement to be in contact once a day.
She’s such a lovely dog. Good to cuddle with on the sofa or in bed on Christmas morning.
That’s it for now. Stay tuned!

Sweetie’s foster break is coming to an end
It’s been a pleasure to have her in our home!
She is a head-turner and gets many compliments! Not only for her looks - we met up with a colleague who, when he found out we only had her for a week, commented how amazing, calm and well behaved she was.
It’s been amazing to see her relax. Her body, her behaviour - she sleeps more and deeper it seems (she really likes her after food naps!), she is less concerned with noises from outside (she probably got used to them and realised they mean no harm / danger, she was fine with the fireworks too). There is hardly any barking anymore. With some calm repeated introduction and treats she learned to tolerate Henry the hoover, the bin bags outside are not scary anymore and the entrance door being opened doesn’t equal anyone breaking in
she settles a lot quicker in the car although will still check out front now and then to make sure you are in the right lane
She’s come a long way just within a couple of weeks with us, who really don’t know much about dogs
She is much braver in the house than she is outside. Sometimes unfamiliar noises will make her jump, sometimes she needs some reassurance but i believe with some more exposure all of this will go away.
She loves her people - she likes to be around you. She also loves the bed and butt scratches and belly rubs and the beach and food of course!
When she needs the toilet she becomes unsettled, easy to spot! She lasts through the night (only once did she wake us up in the night as she needed to go)
She’s got great foundations and it will be easy, in my opinion, to build on that!
We couldn’t have wished for a better dog for our first foster!
Now run
don’t walk, to adopt this gentle giant who will love and protect you fiercely!

There is something very special about Sweetie, from the moment she came in she was adored by everyone.
Sweetie is so gentle calm and affectionate.
So pleased to see her have a foster break showing how amazing she is.
Today she had a coat on and happily let me take it off and back on again after our walk.
We had a lovely chilled walk around the woods where Sweetie sniffed occasionally but generally just walks at whatever pace you walk at.
I really hope Sweetie gets her forever home soon she really is the sweetest girl so aptly named.
She is already on my list for next time but for her to find her home would be the icing on the cake.

Sweetie and I had a much longer walk than expected today considering the awful rain I thought she would not be that keen but Sweetie was not bothered and her tail was wagging so we had a great time.
Sweetie is such a sweet and gentle girl.
I adore walking her and there is this calmness about her which is infectious and heartwarming.
This lovely lady so deserves her happy ever after.

I met Sweetie for the first time today and never has a dog been so aptly named.
She is so calm and gentle and just adorable.
We went for a walk and she just plods nicely, sniffing and looking around.
Can't wait to take her out again.
