On Sunday I took Nigel to a secure field again because he enjoyed it so much last weekend. My mum came with me and she hadn’t met Nigel before, so they met outside the car and when he got in the car he couldn’t stop trying to kiss her, particularly her ear! He just loves people, and is so warm and welcoming even on the first meet, he’s so so full of love.
He had a great time in the field as usual, lots of exploring, running about, treat hunts, rolling, and lots and lots of cuddles!
On our way back we got a take away coffee and sat in the woods on a log to drink it - when we got out the car in the woods Nigel was up for a good sniff around to suss out the environment and once he had his sniff he was very happy sitting next to us and just watching the leaves fall from the trees, he’s such a chiller, it was a lovely moment of stillness. I was very impressed how well he can just sit and do nothing, something my own dogs always struggle with. I feel like you can just plot up anywhere with Nigel and just hang out, he just loves being in your company and that’s enough for him. He loved my mum and was so sweet with her, and she absolutely adored him too, how could you not!
Once back in the car he was very sleepy and lay down most the way back to RR. I gave him a good shower to get the mud off from rolling, and he looked so beautiful and shiny after. When I put him back in his kennel he was very happy and just wanted loads of cuddles, which makes me very sad because after a day trip like that I know all he wants is to cuddle up with you on a sofa and have a nap… I would have loved that too. He so deserves to have a home of his own where he can do this, he’s so full of love and has the sweetest purest soul, he just needs a family to share that love with, and somewhere warm and comfy where he can snooze all day!
