Nigel and I have become great friends in recent weeks and I love my walks with him. We have done long, moochy walks on our own both around the woods and into town and he is great in both settings. He’s a gentle old soul of a dog who clearly has been loved and walked well. He tolerates other dogs around him so long as they don’t come rushing up to him and is great at ignoring a dog when they are playing up. He plods along at the back of group walks often carrying a soft toy.
This kind soul needs a warm and comfy home where he can have his regular walks, a comfortable soft bed and a sofa to snuggle up on.

Oh Nigel, he loves a soft toy to carry with him and mooches along at the back of the group, calm and steady.
He’s a lovely, chilled and friendly dog who I think would like nothing more than a gentle walk and a comfy bed/sofa to relax on each day. You can tell he’s been loved and he is so ready to be loved again.
How can you not need a Nigel in your life?

I took the opportunity to walk Nigel today as usually hes a popular boy! He’s easy to harness and walks really nicely, today he walked with narli and he was a calm presence for her as she’s quite bouncy and playful! We sat on a bench for a bit and he enjoyed a stroke and gave me some kisses love4.gif

❤️ 2025 Kennel Sleepover ❤️

I was lucky enough to share a kennel with Nigel for the sleepover, he was my first choice, I haven’t known him long but I fell in love with him the moment I met him. And boy was he the best sleepover buddy ever! He has the sweetest, purest soul, and is just full of love.

He was SO happy when he entered the kennel and saw all the comfy bedding, he was just beaming with joy, checking everything and then looking up at me like is this really happening!? I started off by giving him a bulls pizzle to chew on just so we could settle in, and once he was done with that he came over to me and started doing rolly pollys on me/the bed, he was so happy and grateful already. He had so much fun rolling around on the bed and just being silly. He was instantly SO affectionate, giving me tones of kisses and sitting on my lap and slumping into me for cuddles. Whilst he was sitting on my lap he also kept reaching out for me with his paw, just inviting me for cuddles, it honestly melted my heart. He is just so up for receiving love and giving it back.

After hanging out for a bit (mainly constant cuddles) he was ready to settle down for the night and fell asleep in my arms, tucked under the blanket. Once he was asleep he was gone for the night, I was so impressed how well he slept, I think it was a solid 8 hours - must of been the best sleep he has had in a long time. And it was just so heart warming watching him snore away all comfy and warm. Even when the other dogs in the kennels would kick off, Nigel was unbothered and would just carry on sleeping. And when the kennels woke up at 7am and the noise started he didn’t join in with the barking, he just lay there all sleepy and happy. He is so clean in his kennel, went the whole night without needing the toilet, I took him out for a toilet break just after 7am, he didn’t even ask for it but as soon as we got out he went to the toilet.

We had such a lovely morning playing with his new toy on the bed, then a morning walk. It was heartbreaking when I had to leave and pack up my stuff, if I was in a position to adopt another dog I would have him in a heartbeat, I can’t tell you how much I love this special boy, I really didn’t want to leave him. I’m so grateful I got to have this experience with him, I enjoyed it just as much as he did and I will cherish this memory forever. It was beyond heartwarming to provide him with love and comfort for the night, but he deserves that every night. He is such a gentle loving soul, and once you meet him you will know exactly what I mean ❤️

I took this handsome chap out for a walk earlier today. I haven’t walked Nigel in a while as everyone loves him and chooses to walk him, so when I saw he hadn’t been out I swooped in and took the chance. What a gentle soul. We plodded along nice and slowly. Nigel gave no reaction to a single thing. He kept looking back at me for reassurance and kisses. I cannot wait for this lovely boy to find his forever home ❤️

Nigel’s Foster Weekend 💕

After seeing how much Nigel enjoyed his kennel sleepover, and due to the bond we shared as a result, I desperately wanted to give him a foster break. I can’t have him at mine because of my own dogs, so I stayed at my sister’s and I’m so glad I did. He loved every minute of it! His tail never stopped wagging and he was just so happy the whole time. Honestly, the perfect house guest.

Before we left, I gave him a shower at the rescue. He was so good and didn’t mind at all, and came out looking super shiny and soft. In the car he was excited at first, sniffing around, but once we got going he settled straight down, mostly napping or watching out the window. He was non reactive in the car, wasn’t fazed by anything.

When we got to my sister’s, he met my sister and her male housemate for the first time and was instantly so friendly. He had a good sniff around, but he wasn’t nervous or over excited, just happy and chilled, and all round very even-tempered and not fazed at all. The only time he got excited was when I got the toys out, he loves toys (especially ones he can shred!) and after a little play, he settled right in for cuddles and naps. He’s such an affectionate boy and really just loves being close.

In the evening we went for a short walk, he was quite alert with all the nighttime foxes but wasn’t over the top. He sleeps so well through the night, he could hear people walking by and even my sisters house mate getting back late and he didn’t bark at all. He loves to cuddle up and sleep in your arms. He’s completely toilet trained and super clean in the house, he always waits until he’s outside, he doesn’t even ask to go, he just uses the opportunity when you give it to him.

The next day we got coffee and sat outside watching the world go by. He was great with people, kids, and dogs passing by, he just sat taking it all in. We then went for a walk in the park, he’s good on lead and neutral around dogs, however he doesn’t like off lead dogs running up to him, and one did so he gave a bit of a warning and the dog backed off. This will need a bit of work, and lots of advocating for his space, as unfortunately there are lots of off-lead dogs with no recall out there. We also walked through a busy Sunday market and he was so good, he takes everything in his stride.

The rest of the day he spent snoozing, playing, and just being his lovely, easygoing self. He’s such a gentle old soul and honestly just a dream to have around. It was so nice to see him so relaxed and content, he really does just love being in a home.

It’s bittersweet because he deserves this all the time, not just for a weekend. He’s such a special boy, full of love, and he’s entering his senior years so really deserves a comfy loving forever home, and I can assure you you will get all the love in return, he just has so much love to give. Whoever adopts him will be the luckiest person in the world! ❤️

Walked my handsome Nigel today. He is THE BEST boy and walks perfectly. He found a toy on the way out of his kennel and kept it for emotional support 😂 Anyone would be lucky to have this boy in their home❤️

I got the very lovely Nigel out for a wet walk today, he is an older boy so I got him a nice warm coat to wear for the walk. He was so patient with me whilst I fumbled around getting it on him. We went out for a little walk and then headed back to his kennel. He was very keen to get back to his bed but let me towel him off and get his feet as dry as I could before he got into bed. This lovely older boy so deserves to have a warm, comfy home to call his own. I so hope his furever family come find him soon.

Nigel’s Foster Weekend round 2 💕

Both Nigel and I had such a lovely foster weekend last time that I had to do it again. So that’s three weekends in a row now that I have spent with Nigel, starting off with the kennel sleepover three weeks ago, and I have loved every second I get to spend with this beautiful boy, he is so special and I cannot tell you how deeply he has touched my heart. He is just the best boy ever!

I started off this weekend by taking him to a secure field, he loved it so much - the freedom and being able to run and explore! It was so nice watching his big strides as he cruised around, even if he went far he would always check back in with me.

He was good as gold in the car as always, he really loves to sit and watch the world go by in the car, he could drive around London all day watching everything. He also loves to sit on the sofa and watch people walk past the house, it’s so cute.

This time I gave him a shower in the bath at my sisters and he was such a dream, he got straight in the bath and stood there the whole time while I gave him a good wash, you didn’t even need to hold him he was such a good boy.

He was a little under the weather this time with an upset stomach so he caught up on a lot of well needed sleep and cuddles. But again he was just the perfect house guest, slots right in and just loves to chill, and is so clean in the house. And not fazed at all by people coming or going.

Before I took him back to RR we went to a secure field again and this time it was raining, so he needed a bit of encouragement as he doesn’t like the rain. But once the rain stopped we had a lot of fun chasing each other and I saw a real goofy playful side to him which I hadn’t seen before, it was almost his version of a zoomie, he was just so happy and free.

I wish more than anything I was in a position to have another dog and I’d have him in a heartbeat. Now that we are entering colder months he so deserves a warm cosy forever home. He’s so loyal, loving, affectionate, cute, silly, goofy and beautiful, there’s honestly nothing not to love about him and I could ramble on about him forever! I will always have a place in my heart for sweet boy Nigel ❤️

What beautiful pictures of Nigel enjoying his foster break, really showcasing what a lovely and well behaved boy he is.
We had a great walk today around the grounds then along the lane, as everyone has said he is a gentle soul , so chilled and easy to walk despite being a big boy.
No pulling, listening to instructions change of direction with ease.
I don’t usually walk him as he is usually allocated so such a pleasure to spend some time with Nigel today and he has stolen my heart.
Would be great to see him settled in a home of his own.
