Suzie's Story: Suzie was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Welsh council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Suzie will be neutered by her family as she is currently in season, chipped, and needs vaccinations. Suzie came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Suzie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: 27th April 25:
Good Evening, Suzie is a Staffie who is very busy and loving. She gets on brilliantly with people and has tons of energy. She needs some training and love. She’s probably about 2 years old, she is microchipped, and she was found as a stray in early April so has done her 7 days.

I have attached some photos of her. I would appreciate it if you could take her we have tried every Rescue but alas without luck. Many thanks Tx

Suzie took us all by storm today when she arrived. We tried to keep her calm as it was sooo hot. She loves making new friends and is settling well.

She is a dark brindle with a white chest star. Just over 2 yrs old and a dynamo. Whoever offers her a home will need to love her dynamic energy... we do.

I walked little Suzie this morning. Just a little bundle of loveliness. She loves to explore and is an eager, busy little thing. She past a barking dog without a second glance. She will be very popular this little pocket rocket love4.gif

1st to view will buy is all I can say. Small old school Staffie. Likes everyone. Barks at a few dogs. Does pull but not that strong and does calm down. Lots of energy and lots of love. No picture as I couldn't get her to stand still!

Oh dear, I am totally smitten. Suzie is the most adorable, friendly, loving, VERY small staffie. Suzie did try to escape from the kennel as I opened the door, but a gentle restraining hand (and a bit of sausage) solved that problem.
We had a lovely cuddle, put the harness on, and went for a long walk. Suzie was always in front, but didn’t really pull. Very well behaved with other dogs and humans. She enjoyed a paddle and drink in the stream, but very controlled.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our time out together. Once she has burnt off her energy, I think she would like nothing more than curling up on a lap and going to sleep. Absolutely gorgeous girl.

I was keen to meet and walk little Suzie before she is inevitably soon whisked away into her forever home, so I popped over to the Rescue today to do just that. Don't get me wrong; BIG dogs are my thing, but I'll always be won over by a dinky Staffie!

Lynne describes her as a "dynamo", which I think suits her perfectly... she is full of energy but also ever-so manageable, due to her diminutive proportions (no more than 10kg, I would guess).

Even with being a complete stranger, she was very pleased to see me and it took me a few moments to "catch" her head with her harness as she darted around me. But before long we got there and she looked very fetching in her pink collar and harness.

Once out, Suzie was desperate to set a good pace, but she didn't stand a chance of taking control of the walk as she simply doesn't have the mass to do so. We soon caught up with a group of our much larger dogs (Austin, Selwyn and others) and insisted they moved aside so we could continue our charge!

Suzie's enthusiam to rush ahead did ease off gradually as our walk progressed but at no stage was she not ahead of me! That said, when it wasn't obvious where which route I wanted to take, she would noticeably slow and seek (and respond to) feedback from - perfect!

I have no doubt that in a home environment her energy would be perfectly balanced by equal periods of calm. I would love to foster her and prove that to be the case but unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to do so at the moment.

After our walk, we had a photo session with Anne. Unsurprisingly, that turned into quite a challenge, but I'm confident that between us we managed to grab a few great shots.

I'll conclude by saying I think she is FANSTASTIC!

Well, hello little Suzie !! I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and walking little Suzie on Tuesday and it was a joy. She was so happy to see me so I tossed a little bit of sausage into her run just to get her to move back from the gate and then went in and was on my knees ready for the cuddles love4.gif She was very easy to harness and off we went. Suzie is a little pocket rocket and moves at a fast pace, she is also very small and incredibly easy to control :yes.gif: We had a lovely walk, taking in the stream so she could have a quick splash about, and then because she was still brimming with energy I treated myself to 10 minutes in the paddock with her. Well Geoff was absolutely right, as soon as I sat down she was up on my knee, paws on my shoulders and giving my face a thoroughly good wash thumbs.gif . She then rushed off to check the paddock out and came back to have another cuddle. I tried so hard to get good photos of her but she really didn't keep still for long enough :dog_running-186.gif: however the couple of her looking up at me with her paws on my knees, prior to jumping onto my lap again are hysterical, so I've included them!!! I can't believe she'll be with us very long and whoever gets to adopt her is going to be incredibly lucky.

Having met this delightful lady at the kennels while out with her walker, I am not surprised at all Suzie has made it to the reserved list 💖

The small but mighty Suzie!

What an absolute beauty. I am so glad I got to meet her before she is (hopefully) homed. She is a girl with a mission, and much stronger than she looks. She had plenty of zoomies in the paddock before our walk, and she gave me the most gorgeous cuddles. She reminds me of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch!
