Maxine's Story: Maxine grew up in a family unit but sadly due to relationship split she needs to find another terrier aware family. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Maxine is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Maxine came into our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Maxine's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Maxine is now safe as she is held until she come into us.Hi Lynne,
Sorry we weren't able to catch up on the phone, and I know you mention you only really work with dogs from the pound that are at risk of being put to sleep, but I thought I would reach out anyway. I have tried several dozen rescues for some time, there has been some social media advertising but I was trying to avoid this where possible. Here's some information:
Our near three year old female Parson Russell Terrier Maxine is looking for a new home, only due to family breakdown, and so needs a loving home to take care of her. We are extremely sad to see her go, however splitting up means we independently wouldn't be able to give Maxine what she needs and deserves. She is exceptionally friendly to all people, however she must be the only pet in the home as she is not friendly with other dogs and believe this to be the core reason why we have struggling with rehoming so far. While she loves all people and not shown aggression to them, and been around children with no issue, she should only be with children over 12 as she can be very persistent and energetic with her play. Maxine is very clever and trainable, can follow lots of commands and do lots of tricks which she loves. She is walked on the lead only as her over excitability means she loves to explore, and to ensure her safety around other dogs. We believe with even more training, Maxine could be an even more amazing dog and she has this within her capacity. She is neutered with all vaccinations and flea/worming up to date and no health issues and can provide vet verification/appointments to prove this. She is house trained and doesn't need direct access to a garden.
She is a beautiful dog, and like all dogs has her own issues but in the right setting with the right people, she will definitely bring happiness. I've attached some photos here.
Thanks so much for your help and support and all you do for dogs. Mx
