Had a lovely walk with Giant Gitano today!
Stephen and I took him round the grounds 2/3 times and then spent about 25 minutes in the paddock with him which he loved!
Like a typical big dog he has bursts of energy and then needs a good old lay down and then is back at it 5 minutes later
He was very interested in the dogs walking past the paddock but listened very well when he was told to come back
He sat for treats and absolutely loved having his belly rubbed
He seems to be settling in a little bit better now
We had no issues walking him and was very grateful for a run around

Out on a walk with Gitano and Georgie yesterday, the big boy seems much happier. I don’t think he has too much stamina, he’s strong on exit but a big big plodder when out and about. I have found he has become excited to see me when I come into his kennel which is always nice when you’re getting to know a new dog.

Yes, he is strong, but he is an absolute sweetheart.

Gitano what can i say about this big soppy boy.
Incredible greeting when he sees you coming.
Loves a cuddle.
Very easy to get harnessed and leads on.
Speedy exit but settles down quickly.
We walk him with 2 people as he could be strong and he can react and grumble a bit if something unexpected comes close.
Today he just ambled along and had a good sniff whilst in the woods.
Such a lovely boy.

This big boy has really captured so many of our hearts at the rescue.
Gitano is easy to get ready and quite eager to get going.
We had a walk down the lane where we had slack leads and a nice gentle pace.
Then off to the paddock where Sophie joined us to take some videos.
Gitano had a good run around, we did some sits and soon he was laying flat out having a rest.
This boy is very well behaved but will need family with big breed experience.

Georgie and I took this big softie out for a walk today, he was on his best behaviour and really starting to get to know and trust his walkers. I really hope somebody has a nice big sofa for him to spend his days on❤️

Helen and I took Gitano out today for a walk and to the paddock.
Gitano is very keen to exit as he always does a big wee as soon as hes out.
We plodded around the woods then off to the paddock where Gitano had a stroll about and lots of rolling around in the fresh bark.

Gitano knows his way back and was very chilled walking back.
He is definitely one for the ladies.

Big dog = big puppy eyes. This boy is so sweet, just a big old lump. He is very strong when he wants to be, but 99% of the time he is an absolute PLODDER!

Here he is by the stream today.. slightly unsure I think, but the cool water must’ve been nice on this hot day!

Gitano is relaxing a lot lately, he’s always been friendly with his trusted walkers but he seems a lot more settled which is great to see.
I was with him in the paddock today and I gave him some really good belly rubs.. he was practically purring!!!

I got some gorgeous pictures and a funny video of him, hope you enjoy!

Gitano was out on his walk when I visited the kennels with my camera last weekend, couldn’t resist a few photos of this photogenic dude …

Got to meet the lovely Gitano today and he was lucky enough to have 3 of us in the paddock giving him lots of attention today! His head may be bigger than mine 🤣 but he is so gentle and loves a fuss.
