Aladdin's Story: Aladdin was handed in to a vet having been found stray. They have been treating him for a injured ear. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. The saviour Vets have neutered, chipped, and vaccinated him. Aladdin is in Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life.
Aladdin's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 14th Mar 25: Hi I'm from a Vets in Orpington. We have a stray cat that we would like help with if possible. He came to us with a wound by his ear which has been treated and he will be neutered next week. He is a longhaired black and is very handsome. He is not very happy with us at the moment but I guess that is to be expected, he has been with us for 2 weeks and has settled in his cage but doesn't like us doing things to him. Once he can stretch his legs properly I'm sure he'll realise that it's all good! I'm happy to be emailed or messaged. I can always call you back.
Thank you

Handsome fluffball Aladdin wasn't in the mood for getting out of bed to say hi to me today, but was pleased to have some treats dropped near his bed for him

Just over a week and Aladdin is beginning to trust his environment. He loves to sit out on the high ledge now and watch the world go by ..but mostly doze!
Phase 1: I went in with him and talking to him, he allowed me to approach and video him up close without a hiss. Its about sensing his tolerance and the agreed distance allowed. His tail was flicking in a way that told me he wasn't 100% comfortable but wasn't I honoured!
Phase 2: Wanted to see if Aladdin had any play in him and could respond to his surroundings.he soon delighted in the toy box I introduced him too.
Finally I lifted a big blue fish out and he retreated into his bed area and I gentley threw it in to him. I came by a little later and he was enthralled by it.

Aladdin is a beautiful fluffy boy who’s still a bit shy but getting to know us. I was allowed to stroke his head today which he seemed to enjoy.

Some cats are easier to get out of their shell via food, I reckon Aladdin got a real playful side who predisposed him for more contact with humans.
After playing with him for a little while, he let me stroke him. He definitely had put his guard down

Aladdin is definitely becoming braver, he’s settled in well now. He came out to see me and enjoyed a few strokes. He was also very keen on the cat treats!

Gorgeous Aladdin was welcoming of a visitor today and we had a nice chat and some snacks! He is so handsome
His coat would look amazing with a bit of a brush but he told me he isn't quite ready for this step yet, maybe will try again in a few weeks!
