If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Raffie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Raffie the Staffy is a darling dog
Raffie has been willing me to take him out when I have been to collect his kennel neighbour. I couldn't deal with Raffie's gorgeous, sad puppy eyes so I decided to take him out too. He was so very chuffed when he realised it was he I was coming to get out and he couldn't wait to get out on a walk.
Raffie was a very keen bean and you could see how much he enjoyed everything about his walk - the sights, the sniffs, the feel of being out in the air - everything. It was wonderful to witness. It was a bit tricky get get Raffie to stay still long enough to take a photo!
Raffie will immediately sit for a treat when you ask him, although if you take too long, he may climb up you in excitement as he can't sit still any longer!
Although Raffie showed some hostility to the other kennel dogs, we did pass a couple of other dogs when out walking and Raffie didn't seem bothered by them at all. We just stopped to the side and he stayed nicely by me until they had passed.
Raffie did get a little jealous when I went back to get his neighbour out. His neighbour accidentally bumped me in the eye which was a bit painful at the time. Raffie saw it happen and was very concerned for me which was really sweet.
I'm looking forward to walking Raffie again but it would be marvellous if he found a home nice and quickly.

I’ve walked Raffie a few times now and he is such a lovely boy. He is very excited to leave his kennel but once he is out he walks really nicely. Today we walked with Sidley and they walked great together, occasionally checking in for a stroke and to make sure everything was ok. So far he has been great with people, dogs and vehicles passing us out on walks but was a bit unsure of a few small dogs but easy to manage. Raffie is a sweet boy and hopefully won’t have to wait to long for his forever home

Raffie is a total dream! First time meeting, and he was happy for me to come in and harness him up. A tiny bit of excitement on exiting his kennel, but really quickly settled down (within about 60 seconds!) and became the perfect walking partner with no pulling whatsoever. We passed some of the lovely terriers on our walk, he was completely chilled moving off to the side to let them pass, and happy to engage with me for a treat or two.
He does love a roll on the grass, be prepared to stand and laugh at him while he kicks back his feet and enjoys himself!

I walked Raffie Yesterday he is such a beautiful boy. He gets really excited about his walk. He’s a big boy it’s a bit of a battle to get his harness on because he so excited but Once he’s out of his kennel and on his walk he soon settles down. He walks really well. He’s such a happy boy being out of his kennel. He has the most gorgeous face and is so loving. He would make the best fur buddy. He needs his forever home where he would thrive and be his best
He would not let you down he’s a real softy at heart.

Had a lovely time meeting Raffie today. We had fun in the paddock then a nice stroll. He is such a good boy and so sweet.

I met the lovely Raffie yesterday after seeing him around, I was very keen to meet him and wow was I amazed with this big friendly boy!
Raffie was a little excited and full of beans when I initially went to harness him up but some cheese was a very good distraction.
Once out, Raffie walked incredibly well, no pulling at all and he is probably the easiest dog I have ever walked!
We went for a walk to the stream as the sun was out. Raffie had a few very short bursts of energy which must have lasted only a second but were so endearing to see before he went back to his usual calm self.
He also had a quick roll around in the grass, but was too quick for me to catch on video!
What a sweet gently boy
