Bells was so excited when she saw me today and after a little cuddle we met with Henry and Charlie for a stroll around the rather wet and slippery woods.
We took it in turns to go in front as Bells can occasionally jump at the leads when she is distracted.
Bells definitely needs a quiet calm walk and she certainly liked following Charlie.

I decided not to give treats after the jumping up as could be confusing her.
Bells was so good on the second half of her walk no jumping up at all.

She is such a beautiful girl just super excited about everything she sees.

I was lucky enough to walk Bells again yesterday, she was super excited to see me when I entered her kennel but after the kisses she settled and I was able to pop on her leads and head out for our walk. She did jump up a couple of times but not to lead rag just for a cuddle which was lovely, when we got back to the kennels we sat on the bench for another cuddle and she covered me in kisses. I'm always sad to take her back her kennel but will hopefully have the opportunity to foster her again for a few days towards the end of the month I am hoping she gets her forever home before then :crossfingers.gif:

Selwyn and I joined Hugo, Danny, Sooty, Bleu and Bells on the charity walk today.

It was such a fantastic sunny day where everyone had an amazing time out together and were just so well behaved.

Such a great event and we are so proud of all the amazing dogs waiting for their forever homes ♥️.

Bells is such an awesome girl.
Every time i walk past her kennel she looks adoringly at me with those beautiful eyes.

We had a lovely walk today at the end of the day when it was much quieter and less people and dogs out.
Bells does occasionally get overwhelmed and grabs the lead but she is easy to distract and gives a great sit when asked so very easily managed.
With the right family Bells would flourish.

Bells' history:
Hi Lynne,

I know you only take dogs from councils, however, the dog is still with the owner until I can speak with you.

This dog is a female SBT X Mastiff, approx. 19 months old, microchipped but not yet spayed. The owner has two toddlers and is also 7 months pregnant and has no time for this dog. The dog is kept mainly outside on their tiny balcony with a tarpaulin over its crate and its only “exercise” is being taken out 4 times a day to toilet, nothing else. The dog is not allowed to integrate with the family as the two existing children don’t like her due to her size, however, she has never growled, shown her teeth or displayed any aggressive behaviour towards them. She is house-trained but sounds like she is destructive when left alone. Again, this is most likely down to the fact that she gets no attention, stimulation or outlets to burn off her energy.

It doesn’t sound as if she has received any basic training and tends to jump up at people in an excitable manner and has never been taught to behave any other way.

At 19 months I do believe she would make someone a lovely pet and I really want to get her out of this situation.

The owner is keen to work with us as she cannot cope with the current situation and would like the dog gone asap.

Would you be in a position to help us with this dog? If so, please could you call me.

Beautiful Bells came across yesterday for the day from being in Emergency boarding as one of our RR ambassadors. She is truly a lovely girl and really enjoyed some paddock time with the practically perfect Pluto next door to her. These two had fun playing with each other and then cosying up either side of their boundary fences for a snooze in the sun, it was joyous to see thumbs.gif

Bells was back from Emergency boarding for the weekend, Lynne brought her back Friday afternoon and once Bells spotted me it was obvious I had to take her out for a walk 🥰 It was lovely to see her, she was a little bit jumpy but a firm no and she was good as gold - no lead ragging! Hopefully she’ll be able to stay a while so I can walk her again, unless she finds her own home in the meantime.

Finally caught up with Bells today i have really missed this beautiful girl.
After a few wriggles and squiggles and cuddles we got going.
Bells was extremely calm walking through the woods no ragging or jumping up.
We had a paddle in the stream and I almost went in as her excitement was much higher than I expected. Its safe to say Bells is definitely a water baby.
When i said it was time to go she needed a little convincing but soon settled down and was walking beautifully again.
Some cyclists passed us and no reaction or anything.
Bells is Such a lovely girl who could benefit with a bit of training and without doubt would be a great addition to any family.

I have walked Bells three times this week and have seen such a change in the lead grabbing since she first arrived, only once today and that was my fault for calling her as i wanted a video of her walking.

Bells is so affectionate and can get a little overexcited when she first gets out but i have been giving her a pigs ear and that does the trick.
Once out Bells walks beautifully enjoying her surroundings sniffing and snuffling.
Bells is still young and can easily be trained all she wants is to please and be loved.

Bells was first on my list for walking this morning and she was pleased to see me, lots of wriggling and laying on the floor on her back whilst I tried to get her harness on. Once the leads were attached we were off, she walks so lovely and checks on you with her big cheeky grin. This girl so deserves a home of her she is so eager to please
