Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Bowie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

I met Bowie for the first time today and I’m a little bit in love! Welcomed me into his kennel and easy to harness, needed a bit of persuading to leave the kennel area but some treats did the job. He walked really nicely, he didn’t mind a bit of mud but put the brakes on at the super muddy parts. Had lots of lovely cuddles in the poets hut, think he would have stayed there all day if it was his choice! A few dogs walked past and no reaction from Bowie.

I met this gorgeous boy for the first time today and fell in love with him at first sight!
He’s stunning and a really friendly boy and we had some lovely cuddles before and after our walk
He wasn’t a fan of the mud and tiptoed around the edge when he could. Didn’t show any reaction to the traffic and paid little attention to the dogs we came across.
Looking forward to spending more time with him

I think we’ve all fallen in love with Bowie a bit!
He is such a cuddly boy! Very affectionate, sweet, gentle & happy! He is very excited to see you when you go to take him out. He is lovely to walk, doesn’t pull particularly, doesn’t seem phased by the other dogs but does not like the mud - but who can blame him!
I look forward to taking him out again but I think he will be snapped up very soon! 🩵

Walked this handsome meathead for the first time today, absolutely lovely and cuddly boy! Still sussing out the environment with lots of sniffs! He got up on the bench and was unsure about how to get down, which was quite funny, he figured it out in the end.. after I put a treat on the seat
had some lovely strokes with Darren too, seems a tiny bit unsure still but not scared, nice to see him approaching people with a waggy tail!

Bowie showed a new walker the ropes yesterday and made it very easy for her! He was a complete gentleman, charming, relaxed, easy to walk, happy in the company of other dogs, not bothered by traffic and revelling in the spring sunshine. I must admit to being rather smitten and I wasn't even walking him!!!

I took Bowie for an off site walk today with my own dog. They were really good with each other and Bowie definitely wanted to play (but my dog wouldn’t haha). My dog being offlead made Bowie very excited as he was trying to keep up and he got quite hyper so we put him back on and from there on they walked really nicely. He also enjoyed an occasional lie down on route and lots of treats! We walked past a few dogs and a horse and he was very chilled.
After the walk we stopped into the local pub where he was really well behaved and I think he could be a good pub dog! He loved the ice cream I got him and enjoyed rolling around in the grass/ getting lots of cuddles. Lots of people who passed us commented on how cute he is.
He travelled well in the car but if using a car seat clip instead of a crate it needs to be very short as he’s keen to come and join you in the front seat. Whoever gets to adopt Bowie is very very lucky!
