Met the gorgeous Bear today when on a walk with Dianne , what an absolute smasher he is ! Bear had not met me before and was so friendly and took treats very gently , he really loves people and would make a lovely companion 💖

Oh Bear! Our foster break came to an end as we weren't the right household for him long-term, but we loved having him.

The main things to know about Bear: he is really loving, he can be stubborn, he loves playing and definitely needs a home with a garden he can go into when he pleases to burn off his energy, he sleeps through the night, is house trained, and can be left alone for a few hours where he will just nap, he travels well in the car, he will need baths and probably medication for his skin, he has a big voice, and he has a lot more energy than I was expecting for an English Bulldog! If you have experience with and love the breed, you will love Bear! 🤎

Just some lovely photos of Bear playing with Dash and Jasmine, please note he prefers to play from the comfort of his back! 0002.gif]

Lovely Bear playing with the other dogs, I say playing as you will see, he emerges and sprints right towards the human loving! And definitely prefers a cuddle over doggy play, as he is a distinguished gentleman, but if he must he will happily roll around with the dogs too!

Lovely handsome Bear and I spend some time today reacquainting ourselves.
He is ever so easy to get ready and off we went.
Bear put the brakes on once in the woods so we came back to the grounds as i wanted him to feel safe and comfortable.
We saw some other volunteers who were all captivated with Bear.
I thought we would try a bit of training in the paddock which went well.
Bear is very food led so was doing a sit perfectly and eventually we got a down and he also was very good weaving in and out of my legs.
He likes to stay close and he was quite vocal when the treats were less forthcoming.

I dont think Bear will be with the Rescue for long.

(Since returned)

Bob and Teresa singled out Bear as their must have doggie. It was a really good match and it proceeded to a meet.

Bear captured their hearts with feedback from Steven and staff and we were soon putting his harness on and off he went into hisnew life!!!

We rehomed Bear but unfortunately had to bring him back to kennels after a week due to an unforeseen change in our family circumstances.
Bear is a gorgeous, loving Bulldog. He is great with other dogs, loves everyone he meets and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa.
He travels really well in the car, we had a 3 hour drive home and he slept all the way.
Once home he explored his new surroundings, had his tea and after a walk settled on the sofa for a snooze.
He loves his walks and he doesn't pull on his lead. He has a lot of energy and he enjoyed 3 walks a day while he was with us. He sometimes sits down mid walk and refuses to move. He loves a treat and this will always get him up and moving again. However he prefers to be driven to the park, beach etc. He would not walk past the end of our front garden, but this could definitely be worked on.
He does have a voice, but he normally only barks when he wants your attention, wants a game or requires his tea.
He loves his toys, ideally hard rubber or rope toys that he can chew on and enjoy a game of tug.
We were aware that he sometimes steals things that he shouldn't and won't give them back. He only did this twice in the time he was with us, and both were on the first night and the next day.
We allowed him in our bedroom and he slept through the night straight away.
Bear has left a big paw print on our hearts and we just wish our time with him had been permanent.
