Ellis' Story: Ellis was found abandoned and unclaimed within a London pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Ellis will be neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Ellis came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Collected Ellis this afternoon. The people who have been kennelling him were singing his praises.

Ellis jumped into the travel crate at the back of the dog mobile and was as quiet as a mouse watching the M25 go by!

Lovely walk with the staff on arrival. Seems calm and receptive.

Yes of course I went to meet Ellis on Wednesday and yes of course he is absolutely my kind of boy and yes of course I have fallen totally in love love4.gif
Ellis is rather overwhelmed right now, every time I went to visit him on Wednesday he was resting in his bed but each time I scooched down, called his name and his big old head popped up, and he looked up in interest, coming forwards for a treat and as the day went on he became more confident, until finally he was coming forwards for a fuss and so I decided we needed to head out on a lovely walk.
Ellis was easy to harness, slow and steady though as he is still rather shy, but he’s so blinking sweet and his desire to make friends kind of overtakes any nerves love4.gif once out i got the impression that this most beautiful boy has not had much, he is constantly looking around, not sure what to expect, but oh my goodness how he will find his feet here and he walked like a dream love4.gif he can be a little strong though, everything is rather exciting for Ellis and he will thrive here and I can’t wait to see him find his feet and make loads of friends love4.gif love , love, love him Kiss of love.gif

Ellis is such a love love4.gif he is super friendly and I get the feeling that all he wants is to make friends and really enjoy all that life has to offer thumbs.gif I know that this amazing boy has not had the best start in life, but I also know that he has all of those special qualities that make for the most amazing companion love4.gif This darling boy is super welcoming in his kennel, all he wants is to please, he has the kindest face and was super cute when I entered his kennel on Wednesday, jumping up for cuddles and then he was very keen to get going thumbs.gif
So Ellis is a dream, but he is also a little under experienced, but he is is so keen in his joy at experiencing all that life has to offer, I swear it’s impossible not to get drawn into this boy's pure enthusiasm for life woo.gif]

I walked Ellis today for the first time and what a lovely boy he is! He is very easy to put his harness on and to leave and enter his kennel. He can be strong whilst walking and gets excited seeing other dogs but has been easy to handle. He LOVES the paddock! As soon as his leads were off, he was gone! Running around, splashing in the mud and chasing the ball. He was covered in mud and also likes to jump up for cuddles and cover you in mud also! Ellis is a lovely, gentle boy and would make a great companion for the right family!

Ellis was the most behaved dog when I went in his kennel ever! He was excited but controlled himself, sat by the door so I can put his harness on. He walked nicely out the door and ignored all the other dogs. Once out he was very excited- he was my last walk of the day so poor boy had been waiting all day. He was still manageable despite some pulling. He is such a joy to walk and I’ll be adding him to my walk list.

Lovely pictures of this sweet gentle boy
He happily let me get his leads on and was very happy to be getting out on a walk
It was still quite icy so we just walked down the lane and he was neutered yesterday so just a little walk today
He is so excited about everything which is just so adorable
I’m pretty sure Ellis will not be with us for long as everyone who’s met him adores him

Can’t believe I hadn’t walked this lovely boy until today.
Wow he is fabulous. First of all, his freckles are to die for, absolute stunner of a dog. He was easy to harness and get out of his block, he seems interested in the whole entire world bless him and nice and playful. We went to the paddock and played ball for a good amount of time and he is really good at bringing the ball back to you and he was dropping it in my lap for me to go again!
After a good few ball throws I noticed upon return with the ball he’d come up and give me nice cuddles and almost melt during some good bum scratchies.

Overall, a very playful and affectionate boy.
