Re: Wendy Am Bulldog x DofB 28 Dec 23 RRemedies Centre
Mondays with Wendy are a uniquely positive way to end my day!
Step aside Peppa Pig, Wendy the Mud Wrangler is here!
All this pup needs is a loving home that’ll match her energy but give her the training and attention she deserves.
Experienced, energetic & patient pawrents required….
Now you all know I LOVE a challenge and that’s why I have a soft spot for this mud menace!

Wendy and I went for a fun walk today, she was full of beans but walked really well with Duke and Selwyn. She’s such a sweet dog and always makes me laugh.

I got Wendy out for a quick walk today, she was full of beans and ignored the rain completely. She’s a lovely girl and has a smile that really captures your heart. She deserves to find her furever home, one that will give her the love and kindness she so deserves.

I met the wonderful Wendy today for our first walk together, and she was an absolute dream. Exiting the kennel, she was strong, but it was just pure excitement to be out. She was full of beans and just such a happy girl. I really enjoyed our walk today and will definitely be walking her again next week. She is a very smart girl and very trusting, just needs some patience and direction as she can be strong on her lead. But she is a real sweetheart and will melt your heart.

We were able to take Wendy for a sleepover and think we’ve fallen a little bit in love with her- she was an angel! One of the main things I wanted to see whilst she was at our house was whether she enjoyed strokes and cuddles because at the rescue she’s normally way too excited running around to seek out affection. Can confirm she loves to be cuddled up close and enjoys a head scratch, she went between cuddling me and my partner on the sofa all evening. She slept in our bed between us and didn’t move all night (about 11pm until 9am).
Travels well in the car
Not reactive to dogs or people
House trained (she whimpers a little and goes to the front door when she needs the toilet, so she didn’t quite understand to go to the back door but she’ll learn that quickly in her forever home!)
Gave my partner a very wiggly welcome when he came home- no barking when she heard the car or when he came through the door
it was Halloween and she only barked a couple of times, out of the many times, people were outside
Good with home noises eg TV, dishwasher, hairdryer, toilet flushing etc. we gave her a shower, she wasn’t overly keen but did let us do it.
Generally polite with food - she did stare at me when I ate something but would get bored quickly and laid down. She will sit for her dinner, I also offered her blueberries and peas which she turned down but loved some broccoli!
Loves to play - but you’ll need durable toys if you want them to last!
The best smile and ears when they stick up or bounce when she walks
Wendy is so ready for her forever home as she’s nearly been at the rescue for a year. She’ll need a confident/strong handler because although she is mostly well behaved and can walk nicely on the lead, she will need some training/ consistency in this area. In terms of the chain lead you’ll see in some videos, this is just a precaution and mostly for when she’s excited coming out the kennels and can grab the leads, she is easily distracted by a lick mat/ long lasting treat and she didn’t do this at all when she was with me, she also stood still for her harness to be put on which is usually a bit more of a struggle as she’s so wiggly so I think with the right home environment she will be the best doggy.

I was so lucky to walk Wendy again this week, she is such a lovely girl. We did some drills together that one of her other walkers has been working on her with and as you can see from the video, she is super smart. She is gentle and fun to be around, as well as being such a beautiful girl. She really enjoys her walks and is always so excited to be taken out.
