Met the gorgeous Wendy today for the first time!

Wendy the goofball and I have been on several walks recently. She’s a strong dog but very receptive to learning and on our solo walks she showed how quickly she can pick up new skill. She knows the basics and is full of nothing but joy and love for her walkers and the world in general. I’m sure when she finds her furever home with time and love she will flourish and become the most adorable friend for life.

Thought I'd show you a Wendy's softer side, as she is often on the go and ready to get out and explore! Today she came to me and asked me for a bit of fuss, something she hasn't done before. Just goes to show the trust that can be built with no pressure, and a little bit of time - I only get to see her for few hours every week, so I can only imagine the amazing relationship she will be able to build with her future adopters!

Beautiful Wendy Woo
I’ve enjoyed seeing this pretty girl develop.
I recently walked Wendy through the woods where she had a sniff, had a look and she listened to me jabber on.
Wendy is strong and will let you know when she’s ready to go. With the right home and the love and attention she deserves, Wendy will thrive.

I walked Wendy yesterday, in the company of Zoey. Wendy was very excited for the first 2 or 3 minutes, but as soon as we were walking and she had the lead, she calmed down and the girls got on very well. We had a lovely walk. On Keepers Cottage lane, Wendy found a large muddy puddle, which she just had to lie down in. She then rolled over and did a complete colour change. Wendy decided I should participate, so she shook herself and then rubbed against me - job done!!!! When we came to the stream I was expecting a repeat performance, but no, she only paddled, so she had to have a shower when we got back to the kennels (she loved the shower). Gorgeous girl

I took Wendy out today and she had a great time playing with the hose, chasing balls and playing tug . She’s got such a funny personality and loved getting muddy but equally enjoyed sniffing and rolling around in the grass. She does need some training as she’s strong on the lead. She knows sit and paw and loves a treat.

Here’s our beautiful Wendy rolling in the grass and thoroughly enjoying the smells.
I took a seat to watch Wendy and she came over to me! I felt blessed

I have been away from the kennels for two weeks, so Wendy was very happy to see me! It was quite hot when I came in, so we headed to the paddock where she could potter and paddle in the pool. We had some scratches and cuddles, played a bit of ball and mooched around. Wendy was VERY polite when she saw Stan (Patterdale) walking by and came away from the fence when asked, again she did the same for newbie Tudor (Wheaten Terrier) who had stopped to say hello!
She did her classic Wendy thing, finding a muddy puddle under the hosepipe and turning herself into a hippo, what a silly girl. I should have known a shower was on the cards at this point!
Wendy is still young and does get herself over-excited. She can pull strongly, but I do believe that this is influenced by the frustrating environment of kennels. She would really benefit from a foster break, or a home, where she can decompress, rest properly, and get the exercise she needs as a young energetic Bull breed.

Today me and my partner took Wendy for an offsite walk which she absolutely loved! She travelled well in the car, hopped straight in a sat nicely - a bit of panting but I think cars are newish for her and it was a warm day.
At the kennels, she is strong and pulls on the lead, but away from kennels she walked really nicely and when she did pull it was so much more manageable, she stopped way more for lots of sniffing too. We saw a few dogs with no reactions too.
It was the first time she’d met my partner and she greeted him nicely and had no problems with him walking and stroking her.
It was getting very hot by the end of the walk so I popped into the pub to get her some more water and a doggy ice cream which she ate when back at the rescue grounds.
She was a lot more responsive away from the kennels too - she knows sit, paw, find it and appears to know her name too. Keen to please for treats!
