If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Wendy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Wendy came into our care today. She looks well and is half the size again to what I had supposed. Wendy is probably about 23" to the shoulder. Happy to explore and didn't react to the dogs when walking down the line, however needed 2 of us for me to be able to extract myself without Wendy leading the way! This is quite common with new dogs until they settle in their new environment. She, due to keenness, is quite strong on the lead. We again will see how this changes as she settles.

I met the lovely Wendy today. A beautiful girl, very nervous and wary at the moment. It took some time, with gentle petting and treats, to get the harness on her, and then we went for a walk - 2 laps of the grounds. First impressions are that Wendy is very friendly, non-reactive to dogs, and interested in cats in a friendly way. Easy walk with a little pulling. Things might be slightly different when she settles.

I had the pleasure of taking Wendy out on a long solo walk yesterday. She was excited to meet me in the kennel, slightly wary of the harness initially but once it was on and with a treat as a reward she was ready to get out. She is a strong dog but once the initial excitement exiting the kennel area was done she settled and walked really well, her tail was wagging throughout, she was sniffing and mooching along. We met several dogs on our walk and she did not react in a negative way to any of them, she was interested in them and did pull towards them but her tail was gentle wagging through out and once we were beyond them she settled quickly.
She knows her name and sit which we practised but mostly we just had a long, lovely walk.
This lovely natured girl will make a lovely pet and I’m sure has a lot of love to give.

I met and walked Wendy yesterday. She is very pretty, has lovely colouring and the softest fur!
She was wearing a fetching suitical which needed to come off before we headed out. That took a few minutes as (a) I'm rubbish at these things, (b) she wouldn't keep still - she kept following my hands around her body! But with Claire kindly providing a distraction, we got there in the end.
As mentioned by Claire, she was keen to get on at first (but was manageable and it soon eased) and her tail was up and gently waving for the duration of the walk - really lovely.
All too soon we were back and it was time to get her suitical back on again. Fortunately Emily was on hand to supply squeezy cheese while I got her dressed, which made it so much easier!

I walked the gorgeous Wendy again today. She is such a friendly poppet. A little reaction to some of her neighbours on exiting, but no reaction once out walking.
An absolute delight to walk - generally slack leads, with the occasional strong pull towards something of particular interest.

Gorgeous Wendy! She is such a sweetheart. Her confidence has grown so much since walking her last week. She still walks with her ears pinned back, but she walks confidently. Getting used to the big world around her. She is full of energy and a delight to walk.
She responds beautifully to her name and follows/ changes direction well:
