Archie's Story: Archie's owner died suddenly and a relative was trying desperately to find a Rescue Place before Christmas. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Archie is neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Archie came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Archie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

I collected Archie from kennels today when his family members brought him in. He is the friendliest boy, despite everything that has gone on for him. He willingly got into the car and was excited to explore my home. He is house trained and makes himself at home on the sofas. We went for a walk and he greeted everyone he met with a waggle tail. He really loves people, typical Staffie.
There was no reaction to dogs passing him. He found several sticks on his walk which he was very pleased with. After all the stress and confusion of the last few weeks he now sparko on the sofa snoring, which is a very good sign.
This boy now deserves someone to replace the loving home he was used to.

Archie continues to unpack bless him. He is the perfect house guest. Undemanding and so affectionate to any human he meets. Loves nothing more but to snuggle on the sofa with you. He is very young for his age and never seems to tire even on a long walk. He walks quite quickly as was used to walking by a mobility scooter. Since arriving there has been lots of presents under the Christmas tree, which he has totally ignored. Not a morning doggo but if a lead is rattled he will make the effort . He has walked within a leads distance with my daughter’s dog. Appeared uninterested, no reaction just interested in smells and a new environment. He is very gentle when taking treats and will wait to be told before going to his dinner bowl. He is struggling when he does not know where you are but that is totally understandable given what he has been through and am sure this will improve. He does now take himself off to the sofa and out of sight occasionally. At meal times he sits under the table, no begging. All in all he is the perfect boy. He would make any home complete. love4.gif

Well Archie has had quite a busy first week in foster. His personality continues to show itself and every day he makes you smile.we have visited family where his manners have been perfect. He just loves a human being. There is an initial jump up to say hello but he listens well to a “ down”. He just wants to greet with plenty of kisses. When working at my desk or eating at the table he will sit under it quietly until you move. I often forget he is there. I help with the local Santa going around the street and he came with me. Two and a half hours of walking and greeting strangers. He loved it but was a tired boy at the end. He will not touch his food unless told, which at first I didn’t realise so he sat dribbling for a while. He loves a walk and we have been going at least twice a day as he is a little overweight. In the home Archie as can be seen above will entertain himself or play with someone. His reactions are quick for his age and walks at a pace when out. But his most favourite pastime is to snuggle up with you. He would do this all day if he could. He is such a loving boy and deserves a family that can give him so much love.

Archie was brilliant over Christmas. He was in his element with a house full of children, adults and lots of wrapping paper. We had to leave him for 3 hours whilst we went out to eat but he was fine and very pleased to see us on return. The only problem I have encountered is he does not like the hoover but we are working on that. I can’t say that hoovering less isn’t a tempting prospect 0002.gif]. Let’s hope he gets his forever home for the New Year.
